22 Reasons To Love ZEROBASEONE (ZB1)’s Leader Sung HanBin

ZEROBASEONE, popularly known as ZB1, is a newly formed K-Pop group from MNET’s survival show “Boys Planet”. Sung HanBin, the group’s leader, was born on June 13, 2001 and has frequently amazed fans with his performances in the survival program. But most new followers are unaware that he has so much to offer than what was seen in the show!

In celebration of his 22nd birthday (international age), here are 22 things to love about HanBin:

 

1. The “H” in Sung HanBin Means “Hardworking”

What HanBin wants, HanBin works hard for. Even as a child, HanBin has been very hardworking. He obtained awards for acting, participated in a model contest, and has even been a model before. He is also a hardworking barista, helping in his mother’s cafe.

 

2. Dependable Hyung of “Boys Planet” Trainees

During “Boys Planet”, Sung Hanbin took care of his fellow trainees whether or not they are his teammates in missions. This can be seen in different clips during the show, from the parts that are shown throughout the episodes and the cookie videos. Even after the show, several trainees told about their interactions with HanBin.

 

3. A Personification of Kindness, Love, and Care

His great personality is not only limited within the show. Various anecdotes from his friends, classmates, and even his teachers have proved how kind, caring, and loving he is. In one of the anecdotes, it was mentioned how he took care of his friend when they got drunk. One of his schoolmates during middle school also shared how he helped them when they got bullied.

 

4. Excellent Dancing Skills

Prior to being a trainee, HanBin has been mostly involved in the dance industry and has been a professional dancer specializing in different genres, and at the same time participated in different dance battles. He also became a professional dance instructor. His hard work is appreciated by his fellow dancers and several of them are well-known in the dance scene, like his dance teacher and a famous waacker Spella, Howl (JustJerk), and WooTae (Mbitious) and BaDa Lee (SM choreographer).

 

5. Unique Specialization

Among the different genres HanBin dances to, waacking and tutting are the ones he specializes in the most. It can be said that these specializations are mostly unique in the idol industry especially among male idols. He has always been proud of his specialization and has even shown several tutting and waacking routines in the show. During the star level test in the first episode, Dance Master Lip J, who is a very well-known waacker in Korea’s dance scene has praised HanBin’s skills after having a dance conversation (waacking battle) with him in that episode.

 

6. His Voice is as Sweet and as Healing as Honey

During the survival program, Sung Hanbin’s performances have mostly been focused on showing his prowess in terms of vocals. This can be seen during his performances in the missions like ‘Tomboy, ‘Say My Name’, and ‘Hot Summer’. However, it does not end there as did some short covers of different songs which showcases his healing voice like ‘Honeymoon’, ‘Starlight’, and ‘I Still Love You A Lot’.

 

7. Sung Killing

Throughout the whole program, HanBin became the killing parts in almost all the teams he was in: signal song ‘Here I Am’, K group vs G group mission ‘Love Me Right’, dual position ‘Tomboy’, and the final mission ‘Hot Summer’. This earned him the title “Sung Killing” from the fans and he proved that he deserved the title and position as he managed to captivate the fans and show his charisma on stage.

 

8. An Affectionate Son

Born as the eldest son in the family, HanBin has been reliable and responsible ever since young. Various anecdotes can be found online on how much he loves his family and how he makes sure they know it. In one of the anecdotes, it was mentioned how he would always offer to take care of his younger sister as he knew his mother was busy in their cafe.

Sung Hanbin has one younger sister, and it is evident that they are close with each other. An anecdote about him mentioned how he would accompany his sister to her school and would even help comb her hair. In response to a question, his sister shared in an Instagram story how she considers him as her life mentor.

We’ve seen the trainees share their clothing a lot since “Boys Planet”, and HanBin’s clothes appear to be their favorite. There’s a reason his closet is raided: He’s excellent at dressing himself and knows exactly what style suits him best. His supporters frequently comment on how his fashion sense is so boyfriend-coded and that every piece of clothing he wears looks beautiful on him, in addition to praising his lean physique and broad shoulders.

HanBin is also regarded as the biggest NCTzen and Valentine (names of NCT and NCT JaeHyun’s fandom). He is a member of Boys Planet’s F4, which was formed by Korean fans in response to the group’s eye-popping looks, along with Kim JiWoong, Han YuJin, and Kim GyuVin. He is also known as one of the group’s stan attractors as well. Fans often compare his images to AI pictures because they appear unreal.

 

18. All-Rounder Idol

In one of the promotional videos posted before the first episode of “Boys Planet”, Sung HanBin was one of the trainees shown as an all-rounder. This has been proven during his performances during the show. Aside from this, HanBin has also shown that he has different sides he can show as an idol that fans could look forward to more in the future.

 

19. Eloquent Sung HanBin

Throughout the show, and even after the final lineup announcement, HanBin has shown his eloquence whether it be in his letters for the fans or in his speeches. The way he beautifully crafts his words during these speeches has been the reason he was nicknamed “Chat AI GPT”.

Sung HanBin’s influence with fans also spreads with the different fashion items he uses. The necklace collection he has yet worn in public appearances has been patronized by the fans – from the ditto, butterfly, to rose necklaces, among others. There is also a bag that HanBin has been using during “Boys Planet,” which is originally popular among male customers. However, since the fans bought the same bag to match with him, the site has shown statistics where it became most popular with women.

HanBin demonstrated this the instant he stepped foot on “Boys Planet,” showing what it means to be an IT boy and to be effortlessly popular and the focus of attention in this show. He created history in the survival program by holding the top spot constantly for 12 weeks in Korea and 11 weeks overall. He was always in the trending topics on Twitter, Korean websites like Instiz, Naver and Pann, along with other well-known figures in the field like BTS, IU, BLACKPINK, and the like. Additionally, there have already been 51 café events across South Korea to celebrate his birthday, which is why he has been dubbed the “Nation’s Son,” “5th Gen It Boy,” “Korea’s Pride,” and many other titles.

 

22. “All In” Love for Sung HanBin

“All in. I’ll bet my all.” This is HanBin’s motto during the show, as indicated in his profile. During every episode of the show, he proved that he really put his all in his performances.
