Kpopmap Fan Interview: A Starlight From New Zealand Gushes Over Ravi, His Music, Influence & More

Kpopmap Fan Interview is back with a special edition! We have answers from fans of the groovy artist VIXX’s Ravi who has just come back with “LOVE&FIGHT”. Ravi has been long recognized for his talents ever since his debut in the popular boy group VIXX and for his solo activities and being the CEO of GROOVL1N as well. Ravi’s fans have a lot to say about him. If you are not a Starlight yet, this will be the must-have guide to joining the fandom. If you are already part of the fandom, this is the opportunity to get closer to other Starlight.

A lot of Ravi’s fans joined the interview. Today, we have a Starlight from New Zealand with us who wants to tell the whole world about her favourite artist, Ravi: Lily! She talks about how she became a fan of Ravi, why she loves him, her favorite songs, content, lyrics, and much more.

 

Can you please introduce yourself?

Hi, this is Lily, fan of the great artist Ravi. Lily

How and when did you enter the fandom?

I met him by chance as the rapper of the group VIXX in 2016 and joined the fandom (Starlight), because of his interesting songs in last promotions of the year. Shortly after, Ravi would make his solo debut and I loved his songs. Lily

What are the reasons why you love your favorite artist?

He is someone determined, responsible, has ideals and has achieved many of them over the years. Even more than a fan would expect, seeing how much he has prospered fills me with pride. Let’s not forget his kindness either, although before he seemed someone to be feared, many of his fans know that he is a very kind, grateful, and attentive person. He does everything possible to achieve his goals. Lily

Which song by them caught your attention at first and why?

 

‘BOMB’ (feat. San E), is the first song that caught my attention, due to being his first time as a solo artist and with a very different color than what I used to hear when working with VIXX. It has a catchy chorus, it carries a lot of energy throughout the song, and hearing him rap in her style was also something new. I still enjoy listening.

Can you recommend a title track and a B-side track for new fans?

 

I want to recommend to new fans, the first mini album: “R.EAL1ZE” with the title song, ‘BOMB’ and its b-side, ‘Lean On Me’. Both have something to say and at the same time leave a deep message of reflection, as well as words of support and you can continue pursuing your goals, achieve them and keep succeeding, even if others say that you should go down, because they know what you do well and they know that you have loyal support.

Can you recommend a fancam, V-Live, cover video, cover dance, or individual content video of your favourite artist to our readers?

 

I recommend watching the videos that fans share in the fansign. Show the communication and coexistence between artist and fan, with many emotional moments. Today they abound on the Twitter platform, but you can also look for some on youtube, you will not be disappointed.

Can you share with us one of your favorite lyrics?

“끝까지 바라기만 해 미안해 내일이 와야”
“I’m sorry, just wait until the end, tomorrow has to come” – ‘Let Me Down Slowly’.

More than being a love breakup, I interpret it as the challenges that we must face on our way or leave something for the good in itself, although it is always difficult to let them go.

Are there any quotes by your favourite artist that you would like to share?

“I always feel thankful to ST★RLIGHT because I am on the stage that I just imagined. Also, perform with music that I made”, RAVI in “VIXX TV” Season 2.

What kind of influence has your favourite artist had on your daily life? (E.g.: Brings me constant happiness / pushes me to pursue my dreams / study Korean).

Always be grateful, persevering and kind to everyone. Ravi inspired me to be respectful and follow my own goal. Even giving a chance to something that I thought wouldn’t be for me, like listening to other types of music, listening to Ravi.

What is your favorite side of fangirling/fanboying?

Being able to know a little about Ravi’s thoughts, that he share a little of his life with us and trust that we’ll always support him. As well as interacting with fans in peace, between fans there is also respect and tolerance. Everything is very nice. Lily

Do you feel there are any misunderstandings, things that are not well known, or any prejudices about your favorite artist from other fans (non-fans)?

Yeh, there is a big prejudice with some non-fans, about the lyrics in Ravi’s songs that they don’t like. Although, he has said many times that he doesn’t intend to write something dirty, they always misunderstand his words. Lily

Ravi, you have worked very hard so far and I can see in all your projects, the effort you put into each work. You are a great artist, never think that you do not do what is necessary. Even if you have higher expectations, always do it. I’ll support you. It doesn’t matter if it doesn’t turn out what you expected, for me it will be enough and special. Each launch of yours is special and important, a memory created between artist, fans and those involved in the creation of the song. No effort is in vain. Remember that Lily will always love Ravi, there will always be a single light in the darkness that will accompany him on his way and will never let go of him. Thanks for being yourself.
