There are K-Pop fans across the globe who share the same passion. But on online platforms, it is hard to know about each other’ stories and K-Pop life. Even if we are in the same fandom, it is hard to get to know each other.

So at Kpopmap, we started the Kpopmap Fan Interview Project to get to know more about K-Pop fans from different countries: more about their K-Pop life and tastes and to give them the opportunity to share with our readers about their favorite group(s) and bias.

Ai is the next fan to answer our questions. She is from the Philippines and is a fan of TEMPEST and her bias is HwaRang. Check out how she entered the fandom, the songs and content she advises to new fans, and much more!

Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from?

Hello! I’m Ai and I’m from the Philippines!

How and when did you enter the fandom?

I became a fan the moment I watched their debut showcase last March 2, 2022. They are the very first K-Pop group I followed and their debut album was also the very first K-Pop album that I bought.

What are the reasons why this rookie group is your favorite group?

After watching them I knew they are a very versatile group and they have a lot to show in their future comebacks.

What do you think differentiates this rookie group from the others?

For me it’s because the members are individually charming in their own natural way. And it’s also because their songs deliver different genres of music. Each songs in their debut album have their own unique and refreshing vibes.

For the readers who are completely new to the group and members, can you introduce them with your own words?

Welcome to the family iE! The seven members are incredibly talented, they have their own charms. They are filled with fun because of their carefree spirit the same time they are truly passionate and humble people that you will love.

Who caught your attention at first and why? Did you know any members prior to their debut?

HwaRang caught my attention first because of his platinum white hair and his dance style. I am not really familiar with any of the members it was only after I saw their debut.

Do you have a bias yet? If yes, tell us why.

HwaRang is my bias. I love his dance style. He has his own character or attitude when he dances and that really makes him look so cool. And him being one of the lyricists in their album made me so amazed because I think to convey your thoughts and feelings into lyrics and make the listeners resonate to them is something like a gift that only few people have.

What do you particularly like in this debut title track? Do you have a favorite B-side?

I really like the message of the debut track as it really described their group who have their own set of rules(style) and the lyrics that say “let’s fly high beyond.” I can’t have a favorite since I love all the songs but if I to choose a song that gives a chill and relaxing vibes that would be ‘Just a little bit’.

Can you recommend a fancam, V Live, cover video, cover dance, or other from your favorite group or bias?

I recommend watching their debut showcase to have a glimpse of their wholesome yet fun atmosphere and their debut performances because this is where we can witness their versatility and talents.

What is your biggest dream for your favorite group/bias aside from being Happy and Healthy?

I dream for them to receive an award like a Roty and to top on the international music charts like Billboard.

If you have a chance to cook for the group, what will you cook for them?

It will be the famous home-style dish here called Sinigang sa sampalok (it’s a tamarind soup based dish).

If you go to only one, would you go to a concert, fan meeting, or fan sign?

Fan sign.

What about your bias do you relate to the most?

It’s his humble beginnings and perseverance to reach his dream is what I can relate to him most.

What are the things you are looking for in their future activities?

I’m looking forward to more comebacks, vlogs and hopefully an offline and online concert!
