There are K-Pop fans across the globe who share the same passion. But on online platforms, it is hard to know about each other’ stories and K-Pop life. Even if we are in the same fandom, it is hard to get to know each other.

So at Kpopmap, we started the Kpopmap Fan Interview Project to get to know more about K-Pop fans from different countries: more about their K-Pop life and tastes and to give them the opportunity to share with our readers about their favorite group(s) and bias.

JwoWon (줘원) is the next fan to answer our questions. He is from the Hong Kong and is a fan of DKZ, and particularly of GiSeok. Check out how he entered the fandom, the songs and content he advises to new fans, and much more!

Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from?

안녕하세요 (Hello)! I am fanboy named 줘원 (JwoWon) from Hong Kong.

How and when did you enter the fandom?

I joined DKZ fandom after watching “Semantic Error”. I was surprised to find that I actually had DKZ’s ‘Lupin’ in my playlist. That song is really memorable and good to listen to.

What are the reasons why you love your favorite group?

The reason I love DKZ is because this group is the first boy group that caught my eyes since I started to like K-Pop. All members have their unique charming point, and they are hard-working. They give me lots of energy when I feel stressed. Because of DKZ, I have a dream of becoming an idol 😂😂.

Who is your bias, and why?

GiSeok caught my attention and he is my bias too . He is really tall, fit like a model and adorable. After trying to know more about GiSeok, I found out that he was born in 2004, the same year as me. I was really shocked. I was shocked to see the difference between us, despite being born on the same year 😂😂.

Can you recommend a title track for new fans?

I would like to recommend ‘Crazy Night’ for new fans. This song brings joy and freshness when you listen to it. The MV is adorable and is worth listening to!!!

DKZ also made a comeback with ‘Cupid’, and the members are doing really great. I would also recommend this song.

Can you recommend a fancam, V Live, cover video, cover dance, or individual content video of your favorite artist to our readers?

I’d say DKZ’s cover of (G)I-DLE’s ‘Tomboy’ is very good! I don’t know how to use words to describe this. I really like the happy, cute and fresh concept of DKZ but I also would like to see more different concepts on them.

Since you like “Semantic Error”, do you have an all-time favorite scene? Can you describe it or share a video?

The scene that I like the most is when 재영 (JaeYoung) told 상우 (SangWoo) “Let’s have a real love together.” It was so sweet!!!

What genre do you want them to appear in? What’s the reason?

I still want to see them do a love story but I think it would also be good to see them appear in a different genre.

Which are the actors would you like to see acting with JaeChan? What’s the reason?

Maybe with the other members? 😂😂 I would like to see what chemistry they can have in a drama.

What is your favorite group/bias’ influence on your daily life?

I am still a high school student and I always suffer from the pressure of the academic performance and the pressure from being a new adult. These make me have an unprecedented hard time, so when I watch DKZ’s videos and songs, it makes me feel better. I have to thank to them. DKZ gives me a lot of energy despite the huge pressure. I also have dream to become an idol and DKZ, being my role model , builds up my confidence to plan to cover DKZ and other K-Pop songs, and study Korean!!!

JwoWon’s message to DKZ:

Please smile as always like now. I hope you don’t cry and feel sad. Don’t always endure (pressure and sad things) alone and just take Ari’s(Dong-ari’s) hands. Aris will be by your (DKZ) side. It’s a shame that really you were close to your 1st win, but I trust Aris and DKZ with get 1st together♡♡. We always know that DKZ is the best. Be yourself and do what your heart want.
