Kpopmap Fan Interview: A Filipino TREASURE MAKER Talks About Her Favorite Group TREASURE And Why She Loves Her Bias Asahi

There are K-Pop fans across the globe who share the same passion. But on online platforms, it is hard to know about each other’ stories and K-Pop life. Even if we are in the same fandom, it is hard to get to know each other.

So at Kpopmap, we started the Kpopmap Fan Interview Project to get to know more about K-Pop fans from different countries: more about their K-Pop life and tastes and to give them the opportunity to share with our readers about their favorite group(s) and bias.

 

Khi from the Philippines is the next fan to answer our questions. She is a fan of TREASURE, and particularly of Asahi. Check out how she entered the fandom, the songs and content she advises to new fans, and much more!

Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from?

Hello everyone! I’m Khi (I kind of combined my name with Asahi) and I’m from the Philippines :)).

 

How and when did you enter the fandom?

I recently became interested in K-Pop (January 2022). At first, I was not interested with K-Pop groups with a lot of members. I thought it would be hard for me to know them but then I was surprised that I was able to memorize their names (TREASURE) in no time then I started watching their videos on Youtube.

 

What are the reasons why you love your favorite group?

I love their friendship and bonding and they are really talented and their visuals were stunning as well. They are also funny and I love how they tease each other. I know it is not easy for them because they have a lot of members but they are really considerate with each other and I truly admire them for that.

 

Who caught your attention at first and why?

YeDam caught my attention first when I saw a clip of him singing a short cover of Justin Bieber’s song ‘Intentions’, and I was really amazed by his raw vocals. I also discovered that he is a composer which made him more attractive.

 

Who is your bias, and why?

Asahi became my bias because he had a great sense of humor. I also noticed we’re both an introvert and I sometimes see myself in him. I love his passion for music. I also saw a clip of him dancing with Yedam during their “TRACE” and he was really adorable then I became curious and searched for the members’ names online and I finally found him. He is amazing because he is also a producer and indeed a talented man. He’s really handsome and cute at the same time everytime he smiles or laughs. I also love his fashion style because it suits him very well. He also loves photography which I also like about him.

 

Can you recommend a title track and a B-side track for new fans?

I would recommend ‘My Treasure’ and ‘Darari’, because I like the vibe that it gives and they became famous with the song ‘Darari’, and that’s also one of the reasons I became a Teume (TREASURE MAKER). I was curious about the group behind that famous song and it turns out that Yedam was the composer which I really admire.

 

 

Can you recommend a fancam, V Live, cover video, cover dance, or individual content video of your bias to our readers?

This one is my favorite fancam because his exposed forehead is really attractive for me and I can say he is really amazing. Their ‘JIKJIN’ relay dance was also good!😍

 

This was really my favorite because he was also with JaeHyuk, Haruto, and JeongWoo (0104 liners are actually my bias line).

 

Can you share with us one of your favorite lyrics?

What is your favorite group/bias’ influence on your daily life?

Because of my interest in K-Pop, I started learning Korean for me to be able to understand them as well as to learn their culture. They also bring happiness to me especially when I watch their “Treasure Map” episodes and when I listen to their songs. To be honest, I’ve never been this happy in my life so I’m grateful that I met Treasure. Whenever I’m sad or feeling down, I just play any of their songs and it’s funny that even the song itself is sad, I’d still listen to it and become happy after.

 

What is your favorite side of fangirling/fanboying?

My favorite side of fangirling is the excitement I feel whenever they post something on social media. I feel like it is one of their ways to express themselves and to connect with the TREASURE MAKERs as well. I just hope that one day, I’ll be able to see them in person.

 

Can you describe your bias in only one word?

If I were to describe Asahi in one word, it would be “captivating”❤️.

 

Can you share a fun episode that only fans from your fandom know to readers?

The behind-the-scenes of their web drama (“TREASURE MAP” EP. 37) was really fun to watch as well the behind-the-scenes of “The Mysterious Class”. It was their first time showing off their acting skills and it went very well. They were cringing on some of the scenes they were doing and I really find them funny that I laughed so hard. Overall, they did a great job.

 

If you can spend a day with your bias, where will you go and what will you do?

If I were to spend a day with Asahi, we would probably go to a ramen restaurant and eat together and then go to somewhere that has something to do with nature. Maybe we can do trekking as well since he loves nature and I also wanted to take pictures of him. I also wanted to go to Legoland with him to buy and personalize some items I could get and then give it to him because I love giving gifts to people I love. That would be a memorable and great experience for me if that happens.

 

Is your bias different while performing and in real life? What is your reaction to the difference (if there’s any)?

Asahi is different while performing and in real life. While performing, he is very professional and fierce but in real life, he is a jolly person and he shares positive vibes to other members. I’m happy because he could adapt well in the environment where he belongs.

 

Khi’s message to Asahi:

Annyeong Asahi oppa! I’m not yet sure if I could give my gift to you but if it does, I hope you receive and keep it. I’m afraid I can’t make it to your concert/show. I’ll just wait for the right time and scream as loud as I can to cheer for Treasure. I’m grateful that I met you all. I never knew that I’d be this happy. Stay safe and healthy always. I’ll support you no matter what. I love you all❤️ Congratulations for making it this far and I’ll look forward to your upcoming comeback. I’m so proud of you❤️ Hwaiting!
