If you have watched a lot of K-Dramas, you might have encountered K-Dramas featuring surfing. If not, it is time you discover them with this article! Korean actors and actresses look particularly cool in wetsuits riding waves and the filming locations of these dramas are also beautiful and dreamy.
The Korean East Coast is beautiful, with blue water and friendly waves. You might already know a few cities like Busan, Sokcho, and Gangneung. You can surf there, but located near Gangneung, is one of the best Korean spots for surfers: Yangyang. It has nice waves and the surrounding has all surfers need. Of course, there are a lot of other spots in Korea for surfing.

1. “Lovestruck in the City“
“Lovestruck in the City” starring Ji ChangWook and Kim JiWon should be first on this list as it is one of the only K-Dramas on the theme of surfing (the 1st part of it). The lead characters EunO and JaeWon met while surfing on the beaches of Yangyang. They showed their beautiful chemistry while surfing together. They also introduce viewers to what a holiday by the sea looks like with campfires and camping. It is a nice place to spend the holidays.

2. “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha“
Kim SeonHo‘s character (DuSik) in “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” lives by the sea and enjoys his life in the countryside. One of his hobbies is surfing, and this was also what he was doing in the first scene of his character in the drama. It was one more cool skill to add to his never-ending list of things he could do.

3. “The Eight Sense”
There is a brand new drama on this list. It is the BL drama “The Eight Sense”. The two leads (Lim JiSub and Oh JunTaek) are university students part of the same surfing club. JaeWon (Lim JiSub) is experienced and JiHyun (Oh JunTaek) is a newbie. They showed great chemistry out of the water while getting ready to surf but also in the water. JaeWon is explaining to JiHyun how to surf, so if you are new to surf, it is for you.

4. “SURF 101: Intro to Romance”
In this web drama, a group of friends (Choi WooJung, Min Chani, Choi MinSoo, Kim HyunMook) enjoy many water activities, including surfing. It is easy to watch and see what you can enjoy on a beach trip.

Bonus: “The Heirs”
We can’t forget to mention that Lee MinHo was also surfing in the drama “The Heirs”. He looked amazing in the short scene that fans still remember. But it was in the US, not in Korea.
