A Canadian Player Talks About Her Favorite Group SUPERKIND

I did this interview to let the world know about SUPERKIND.

 

Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from?

Hi, I’m Daiki and I was born in Canada. I have some K-Pop groups I like but SUPERKIND is the first one I find myself most involved as a fan.

 

How and when did you enter the SUPERKIND fandom?

One day, closer to the end of February 2023, I was scrolling Facebook and then I stumbled over an article with the caption saying: “Breaking News: SUPERKIND Seung & MAVE Zena First K-Pop AI Idol Dating Scandal”. I thought to myself: “What the hell, how is that even possible?!” This was the best clickbait I have ever encountered. I learned that SUPERKIND is the first AI + Human K-Pop idols (currently SUPERKIND has five human members including Daemon, Eugene, Geon, SiO, JDV and two AI members including SaeJin and Seung), and that’s a first! So it started to pique my curiosity even more. Then, I headed to YouTube, TikTok, and finally I ended up on their official Discord server (which is really a typical to have for K-Pop idols and quite intriguing). Over there, I met a lovely fandom called Players!

 

What are the reasons why you love SUPERKIND?

I love SUPERKIND because they are transcending the ordinary. Their concept is none like other. Not only they are the first AI + Humans K-Pop idols, furthermore, they are based on a decentralized system, called PlaySUPERKIND, in which fans not only get to be a consumer but also get to play a producer role in it. Just like a game, we can make choices, get rewards, and interact with the SUPERKIND members, thrilling! But what I love the most is SUPERKIND’s duality and humor. All the members are just so hilarious yet so cool, unique and talented! SUPERKIND truly ignited a spark within me I haven’t felt for the longest time before! Can you recommend a content video by your SUPERKIND?

I recommend my first SUPERKIND’s video I saw which is their debut song ‘WATCH OUT’. It’s a song that will beat you up and make you wake up from the dead A.K.A your bed, make going to the gym feel like Rambo, and it ultimately always plunges you in a constant winner mindset, which pushes you to overcome any obstacles in life — just perfect in the depressing and freezing winter in Canada back then when I first listened to it in February 2023. Secondly, I would also recommend SUPERKIND’s ‘WATCH OUT’ dance practice. Seeing all the members dance in perfect coordination with AI SaeJin glitching in and out is just incredibly so cool!

What is SUPERKIND’s influence on your daily life?

SUPERKIND is like the sun that rises up every day. They give me energy just by listening or watching them, always uplifting my mood and pushing me to become my better self each day. I have learned so much ever since then: editing videos, using AI generated art tools, digital art and improving my own art skills! My first fanart is AI Seung, the first SUPERKIND member I saw! I use traditional watercolor!

What about SUPERKIND can you relate to the most?

I noticed SUPERKIND and Players have that tendency to do self-mockery, and that is the best form of acceptance, confidence, self love and constant improvement, I live by it!

What type of variety show would you like SUPERKIND to do?

I want to see SUPERKIND members going to “Running Man,” not because I want to see them get roasted by the “Running Man” cast members but because I wanna see them interact with their sunbaenims and other guests, play nametag chase, absurd games, eat good food, and travel. It would be hilarious and very interesting to see their teamwork and also their individuality during the race (and of course, reveal who is the real dirty Player here hahah).

 

What is your best souvenir with SUPERKIND until now?

My best souvenirs are discovering SUPERKIND, becoming a Player, doing TikTok creations and fanarts, winning the SUPERKIND “PlaySUPERKIND : Player Gauge 200” Album Pack Event, album unboxing, watching TikTok videos and TikTok live… I guess I cherish every single moment! Here is my “PlaySUPERKIND : Player Gauge 200” album and my precious photocard! Unboxing this album is a true one-of-a-kind experience, thank you SUPERKIND for making it so memorable!
