During the weekend, TEEN TOP held their concert on and offline with the super long title: “2023 TEEN TOP WE GONNA ROCK IT DROP IT TOP IT HEY DON’T STOP IT POP IT LIVE” and I got the chance to attend because I was gifted the ticket when I subscribed for Kpopmap PRIME.

It has been 3 years since their last comeback and a long time since we did not see all the members together at a concert. Adding on that the group is only composed of 4 members now so it was new for many fans. ChangJo really had a lot of new parts assigned to him as well.ย The concert was very nice and we could feel that the members are experienced. I mean, they just celebrated their 13th anniversary!

As a fan of K-Pop since 2010, it was only logical that I know about the group and love all their hit and legendary songs. I’ve been excited about their reunion and the opportunity to see them again. So I watched their concert on Sunday (July 16th) and thankfully it was made available online!

Here is what I particularly wanted to share from the concert in this small review.

The opening of the concert was particularly memorable because they opened with ‘Rocking’ as we could expect from the title of their concert directly coming from the lyrics of that song. With their energy and iconic song, they put the energy up from the start of the concert.

After ‘Rocking’, they went on for ‘Seoul Night’ to keep on this party vibes up. Niel‘s live singing was particularly noteworthy. It is known to fans and non-fans that he is one of the most talented vocalists, so no surprise. To not end this high energy they closed the opening with another legendary song “No More Perfume on You” (one of the hit K-Pop songs of 2011).

During the talking session, members shared TMI with fans and they all seemed in a good mood. Joking and teasing each other, we could see that they are a team that has been together for a long time. They also try to communicate a lot with fans in the audience. Also, I could feel the love of ANGELs for the members, telling them that they look cute whatever they do or wear, to do whatever they want, and if they want to use glitters under their eyes that they should do. I believe that it is during these events, that you can grab the unique synergy between fans and members that is particular to each fandom. ANGELs and TEEN TOP felt like old close friends.

Of course, we got to see their new song as well -‘Hweek’- and since it has not been long since they promoted it we could feel their ease on stage.

For solo stages, Ricky covered TaeMin‘s ‘Move,’, Niel did his solo song ‘A to Z’, ChunJi did the ballad song ‘I’m sorry for the late breakup’ and ChangJo did a rap for ‘omg’.

One thing that also caught my attention, is Niel’s lip ring. He was asked to do aegyo and he looked amazing with it.

Members also took the time to look more at the public and paid particular attention to the youngest person at the concert a 10-year-old girl. They showed that they cared, it was sweet of them. Of course, a concert can’t be without a fan song so we got to hear ‘ANGEL’.

Just like the opening, I like the ending of the concert with 5 fire songs on the row. Members looked like they were enjoying jumping and kept the high tension with their songs ‘Oh Good’, ‘Crazy’, ‘Miss Right’, etc. ‘Oh Good’ was particularly good as it felt like a real club party with the members. To close the concert, members did ‘Rocking’ and ‘Hweek’ once more before leaving. The tension was so high that they let the dancers sing as well in their mics.

My favorite song of the day was ‘Call Me’ which I heard for the first time. It is a B-side no one should miss on:

The whole concert was energy-giving and a happy time. Wishing to see them all again together soon.
