After 1 year and 3 months since the release of their 6th mini album “AURA” in August last year, Golden Child will finally make a comeback with their 3rd single album “Feel Me” on November 2nd. While Y is currently on military service and therefore will be absent from this comeback, Goldenness (their fandom) are particularly excited for this new album as this is going to be leader Lee DaeYeol’s first comeback with the group after being discharged from the military in September. Take a look at the MV teaser of the upcoming title track “Feel Me”.
Since their debut in 2017, Golden Child have never failed to surprise Goldenness with an amazing discography encompassing a wide range of genres. As we prepare for their long-awaited return, let’s check out 5 B-Side tracks from Golden Child to fall for the diverse charms of the 10 talented boys!
1. ‘Miracle’ (2022)
This EDM dance pop is the last track from Golden Child’s previous album “AURA”. ‘Miracle’ is one of the most robust and high-energy tracks among Golden Child’s discography alongside the title track of this album ‘Replay’, which showcases a masculine side of the group that is rarely seen in their discography. The lyrics describe the magical and exciting moment of finding the perfect one in their life, and the members’ admiration towards their love. The punchy synth bass in the dance break is very dynamic and pours in extra energy to the upbeat song, which makes you want to dance along.
2. ‘Fanfare’ (2021)
‘Fanfare’ is a funky dance pop from Golden Child’s second full-length album “Game Changer”. This song portrays the members’ desire to win the love of their crush, and their belief that they are destined to be together. The rhythmic piano bass topped with groovy saxophone melody demonstrates the mature charm of the group. Many Goldenness were also impressed by the members’ excellent vocal skills in this song. Bae SeungMin’s “Deja Vu” line is a chef’s kiss. Not to mention the epic high notes and harmonization of the two main vocalists, Y and Koo JooChan, before the dance break! On top of that, the members looked absolutely classy performing in suits during live stages.
3. ‘Breathe’ (2021)
‘Breathe’ is a B-Side track from Golden Child’s fifth mini album “YES”. Golden Child promoted this song after the title track ‘Burn It’, and often performed this song during music festivals and concerts, making it one of the most well known B-Side tracks of the group. While ‘Breathe’ is a powerful and upbeat dance track, it delivers a hopeful message that the members are overcoming challenges and pain while pursuing their dream with the support of the people they love. The members even showcased their acting in the music video, which is about how Golden Child, as a volleyball team, overcomes various obstacles and finally wins the match. Doesn’t the storyline sound like a high-teen movie?
4. ‘OMG’ (2020)
Golden Child has been famous for their cheerful boy-next-door image, and one of the hidden gems among their bright concept songs is ‘OMG’, which they promoted alongside ‘ONE (Lucid Dream)’. ‘OMG’ is a lovely song that describes the moment when the members fall in love with their crush, and that they are nervously confessing to her, hoping she can come closer to them. The choreography is also very lively, showcasing the freewheeling vibe of the song. Lee JangJun, Kim DongHyun, and Lee DaeYeol playing rock paper scissors at the beginning is too cute to handle, and Bong JaeHyun‘s ending fairy in this live performance just melts Goldenness’ heart!
5. ‘Compass’ (2019)
Apart from dance tracks, Golden Child also has lots of nice mid-tempo songs, and ‘Compass’ is certainly on top of the list. This song is from Golden Child’s first full-length album “Re-boot”, and it is an easy-listening synth-drenched track that showcases the members’ powerful vocals. The lyrics of the song are also very comforting, in which the members tell the listeners not to be afraid to fall and that they can take a break whenever they need as Golden Child will always stay by their side. The idol group encourages them that they will be able to find their dreams eventually. This song is like a warm hug that gives you courage to face the challenges in life and move forward to pursue your dreams when you feel lost and frustrated.
