As ENHYPEN Celebrates Their Third Anniversary Take A Look At Their Greatest Moments And Achievements

It has been three years since ENHYPEN debut and three years since their journey started. Recently on November 30th, a 7-member boy group celebrated three years since their debut. The members took to WeVerse and showered ENGENE with much appreciate, even going live to celebrate the special day. Even though it has been three years, let’s take a look at their greatest moments and achievements as a group.

To start, we have to go back to the very beginning. ENHYPEN was created on the survival show “I-LAND“. The show contained 23 contestants who endured many different challenges. In the end, only 7 got to debut. The final seven consisted of members such as JungWon, HeeSeung, Jay, Jake, SungHoon, Sunoo, and Ni-Ki.

After the formation of the group, the fandom name of the group was revealed on October 9th of that year, following the announcement of their new leader JungWon. The year ended with their official debut on November 30th with the mini album: “BORDER : DAY ONE” and the title track ‘Given-Taken’. From that moment forward, ENHYPEN continued to grow in popularity. Then in just 12 days, they became the fastest K-Pop group to win an award for Rookie of the Year. At the “2020 Fact Music Awards,” they won the award for Next Leader Award.

2021 rolled around and to kick off the year they won three Rookie Of The Year awards. One from the “Golden Disk Awards”, another from the “Gaon Chart Music Awards,” as well as the “Seoul Music Awards.” On April 4th of that year, they released their 2nd mini album “BORDER : CARNIVAL” with the title track ‘Drunk-Dazed.’ Nearly a month after the release of their 2nd mini album, they won their first music show win, followed by various more soon after.

On July 6th, 2021 they released their 1st Japanese mini album called “BORDER: Hakanai” before proceeding to win their first Bonsang at the “2021 Fact Music Awards” for Artist of the Year in early October. In just 10 days after this major win, ENHYPEN released their first studio album, “DIMENSION : DILEMMA” with the title track ‘Tamed-Dashed’ in mid-October.  Within a week of its release, ‘Tamed-Dashed’ won its first music show win, amassing two more in the following days. Towards the end of the year, ENHYPEN won Rookie of the Year at the “Asia Artist Awards” in early December. They continued earning accomplishments with not just one but two awards for Worldwide Fans’ Choice Top 10 and Best New Male Artist at the “Mnet Asian Music Awards” on December 11th 2021.

The year 2022 proved that ENHYPEN can never be stopped and it was the year that they broke new records. On January 10th, they released their 1st repackaged album “DIMENSION : ANSWER” with the title track ‘Blessed-Cursed.’ Within 6 days of its release, they launched their Webtoon series, “Dark Moon: The Blood Altar,” which is definitely worth a read. Soon after, ‘Blessed-Cursed’ earned 2 music show wins, earning ENHYPEN their 7th and 8th wins in total. Shortly afterwards, they won two awards at the “Seoul Music Awards.” They won a Bonsang (main prize) and an award for Best Performance Award. Then on January 26th, in just 422 days since their debut, ENHYPEN earned the title of “Fastest K-Pop Act to have a million-selling album in Hanteo and Gaon history.” This proved to be an incredible feat for a group that was just a little over a year into their debut.

On May 3rd, they proceeded to release their 2nd Japanese mini album “DIMENSION : Senkou.” Within 8 days of its release, ENHYPEN reached no. 1 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 Chart and “DIMENSION : Senkou” achieved an all kill on the Oricon Japan Chart. In that same month, they conducted their first overseas schedule at K-Pop Flex.

On June 8th, they released a special collaboration song with Coca-Cola’s Summer Campaign in Japan titled ‘A Kind of Magic’ before receiving the title for “The fastest Korean Act in history to reach 1 billion total streams on Spotify,” a feat achieved within 571 days. 

The latter half of 2022 was a time for many achievements and firsts for ENHYPEN. On July 4th, they released their 3rd mini album “MANIFESTO : DAY 1.” Eight days later, ‘Future Perfect (Pass the MIC)’ won a total of three times, bringing their music show wins up to 11. Then, on July 27th, they reached number 1 on the Billboard Japan Artists 100.

Later in the beginning of August, they charted at no. 6 on the Billboard 200 before charting #1 on the French Physical Albums Charts and becoming the first 4th gen group to top this particular chart. On August 20th, they had their first USA performance at “KCON in LA.” Shortly after, they reached no. 1 on the Billboard Top-Selling Albums chart before charting no. 1 on the Croatia International Albums chart. This made them the first 4th gen group to hit no. 1 on this chart. 

On September 17th, ENHYPEN embarked on their first world tour called the “MANIFESTO” World Tour. They embarked on this tour before closing out the year with a win at the “Melon Music Awards” for 1theK Global Icon and an award for Worldwide Fans’ Choice at “2022 MAMA Awards.”

At the start of the new year at the “2023 Golden Disc Awards,” ENHYPEN won an award for Best Album (Bonsang) on January 7th. In that same month, they performed at the Kyocera Dome making them the first 4th gen group to perform at the Japanese Dome. They performed here before kicking off the Asia leg of their “MANIFESTO” World Tour, finishing on February 5th.

Fast forward to May 22nd to when they released their 4th mini album “DARK BLOOK” with the title track ‘Bite Me.’ Within days of its release, ‘Bite Me’ won on both “Mcountdown” and “Music Bank.” Later that month, they performed at “WeVerse Con” and the “32nd Lotte Duty Free Family Concert.”

ENHYPEN Updates

Towards the end of July, ENHYPEN kicked off their 2nd world tour, “FATE,” in Seoul before releasing ‘Blossom,’ a digital release in Japanese, and performing at “Summer Sonic” in Tokyo and Osaka. 

At the beginning of September, the “FATE” tour in Osaka was kicked off at the Kyocera Dome. On September 5th, they released their 3rd Japanese single ‘You,’ prior to the “FATE” concerts in Tokyo and the Dark Moon Special Stage at Lotte World. After releasing their Japanese single, ENHYPEN embarked on the US leg of their “FATE” tour in October. All of this was done and wrapped up before they released their 5th mini album: “ORANGE BLOOD,” which was released on November 17th. 

Looking back at ENHYPEN’s greatest moments and achievements just shows how much the group has continuously worked hard right from debut and will not be stopped.
