NOIR (느와르) who previously debuted as a 9 member South Korean boy group underneath LUK Factory who stood out in the scene back in 2018 with their releases at the time with songs such as ‘Gangsta’, ‘Airplane Mode’ and the popular fan favourites ‘Lucifer’, ‘Doom Doom’, ‘Burning’ and ‘Diamond’.
Currently acting as 8 members, NOIR has suffered years of mistreatment through their agency, from not being able to view financial statements as requested for their earnings, mismanagement of their social media accounts and where several announcements and social media activities were underneath by the Leader and Main Rapper Shin Seung Hoon through the years, inability to communicate with fans and having their youtube history erased until the members would angrily mention it and only coming across it after fellow member Ryu Ho Yeon would angrily call out the company through an instagram story stating the years of NOIR’s hard work and subscribers was ‘transferred’ to a new girl group before it was finally recovered, from their music being temporarily unavailable and their NOIR Spotify Profile Playlist and Songs seeming undiscoverable to be streamed and seemingly deleted for a very brief time, mistreatment of the members by the staff and un ability of music show promotions, photo shoot or fan event promotions since 2020 promoted or created by the company.
Through all this hardship NOIR and the fanbase has suffered throughout the years, it’s no doubt that the happiness and loving support that me and fellow Lumiere’s would run to the members current social media accounts to send their own small letters of support towards the members despite the somewhat small break the group may have to make from being ‘NOIR’ and being on their own with their own new path for a while. Waves of support in numerous languages including English, Korean and even some Spanish fans would send towards the group throughout the start of May would send would be overwhelming heartwarming.
Through an article shared with the popular South Korean news website who would publicly be the first to break the news to fans and the general public about what ended happening with the case itself. While some of the current members were unable to attend due to their military service, 6 out of 8 NOIR members would be revealed to have won the lawsuit against their longtime home and agency LUK FACTORY.
According to a rough English translation, the involved 6 members would file against the company due to the company failing to meet contractual obligations, including not providing stylists and transportation, withholding necessary documentation like financial records, not registering a valid company address and attempting to transfer their contracts to another agency without anyone’s consent.
Fans have sent loads of support to the members during this hard time through their various postings regarding the situation.
While some haven’t yet uploaded their own statements and messages to fans, here are the members who have currently done so.
