Summer Park, a female singer-songwriter with a unique tone – pure and jazzy at the same time – is releasing her second single [Love Me Like]. After a two and a half year-long hiatus, Summer Park is back with a light medium tempo R&B song that resembles early summer, that matches her name. Her songs have its own vibe which captures the peaceful moments like sunbathing or stargazing in a very natural way, and this time, smooth rapping being added, it sounds more friendly and natural. The lyrics are mostly written in English and that makes the sudden Korean-rap part more unique as if it’s a whole new language.

Her debut single ‘The One I Remember’ didn’t win any prize because the judges thought she was

TOO PROFESSIONAL.

Shim Soo-bong wrote ‘The One I Remember‘ herself in 1978 and took part in the MBC University Song Festival. She didn’t win any prize because the judges thought she was too professional. Ironically, she became a superstar with this song so quickly. However, after being involved in the 10.26 incident (assassination of president Park), several of Shim’s songs, including this one, were banned by the government until 1984. After leaving the twisted history behind, Shim Soo-bong became a national diva with many hit songs such as “Men are ships, Women are ports” and “Don’t know anything but love.”
