For a lot of people no matter where they are in the world, music is always something that connects us no matter the language or genre that is involved. Within genres of music there is always sub genres and sub communities that inspire various album and tracks there is also numerous artists to go along with this. Thanks to each generation of music, everyone experiences their own hardships either with music labels, distribution issues with cds or online digitals, there always seems to be a break through artist and one that shines through. 

2017 and 2018 would be an impressive year in the world of South Korean music and K-Pop, releasing impressive names with different styles to the public and introduce the world to K-Pop. 

MNET would reveal a reality show boy group project with numerous units and 101 trainees from 54 entertainment companies (while some were independent/ unsigned trainees). The show started airing in April of 2017 and would hold its final episode on June 16th 2017 with a total of 11 episodes. The members themselves were chosen by the nations producers (another name for the viewers being the judges and taking control on the voting on which trainee gets to debut) and the top 35 trainees got to perform the shows track ‘Pick Me’. With each episodes the trainees faced new challenges, practiced dancing and lyrics to the shows title single ‘Its Me’ (‘Pick Me’), numerous ranks were announced and more. The top 11 members would later debut underneath the [ Wanna One ] name on August 7th 2017 before disbanding in 2018, and would have a short reunion during MAMA in 2021 as 10 members. 

Since teasing the original idea of possibly releasing music to fans, Park Jihoon would officially debut as a solo artist on March 26th 2019 and would become beloved by many domestic and global fans (often referred to by their official fandom name: MAY). He would later see an increase of popularity thanks to participating in side and lead roles in dramas such as [ Weak Hero Class 1 ], [ At a Distance Spring is Green ], [ Remarriage and Desires ] and [ Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency ]. 

With a lot of people coming across the artist for the first time, finding out about his solo career through his acting in different dramas, many are viewing his content for the first time and are new commenters to his SNS (Social Media Pages).
