When it comes to the creative world that makes up K-Pop as a whole, some might describe it as catchy songs and melodies, impressive and addictive choreographies and creative concepts and group themes that are unique to each artist or group. With the in creative world behind K-Pop and its well described approaches as seen here and here, it truly does seem that if you look far enough or dig into different genres and sub genres, you can find an artist you truly enjoy and want to follow their career no matter what your previous tastes where or if you are new to the world of K-Pop.
Music is just one of those things that can offer so much and so many different things to each individual, from mature to bright youth filled concepts, there’s a little bit of everything for everyone, sometimes finding new artists can be overwhelming but for me, I personally love finding new artists through articles, interviews, or just in person suggestions. One of the newest discoveries being this new pre debut boy group underneath the name “Lupiter”.
According to their profile and official posts, the group name comes from Jupiter, the king of gods in Ancient Greek and Roman mythology. The name itself is meant to symbolize the idea of “endlessly open sky” which also represents limitless possibilities. The group itself currently consisting of the 4 members: Kim TaeHyung who will go by the stage name Taeo (Pronounced: Tae o), who is the Vocalist and born on July 17th 2002, Kim HoJin who will go by the stage name Siho and is the main dancer who was born on December 11th 2002, Lee SangWoo who is a dancer and was born on February 21st 2003 and Oh Seung Hwan who will go by the stage name SeoJun he was born on April 2nd 2003.
Not to long after establishing their official SNS accounts (Instagram, X (Twitter) and TikTok), the members would slowly but surely start introducing themselves to curious fans through funny posts and challenges, dance challenges, group photos, relatable moments and cute selcas (selfies). Eventually revealing their fandom name: Lupid (a mixture of the words Lupiter and Cupid) to fans as they would go about their pre debut promotions in Taiwan and Japan, even completing their 1st Japan concert on November 2nd 2024.
