Luminous updates fans regarding next steps

Although their original debut would be post phoned due to the pandemic period that the world would face, official SNS (social media) accounts would be opened for the group, first sharing the groups official logo and even teasing the members through pre debut photos that would also tease the members upcoming pre debut album and reveal date (21.08.19). Through these photos the current member lineup would introduce the members; Youngbin, Suil, Steven and Woobin. (former member Jayden would appear to be absent from these photos, and where fans would assume he left the group either late 2019 or early 2020). 

As they would gear up for their debut, Luminous would reveal the members in solo concept films where their ‘light forms’ would be revealed: Youngbin would have the lightform Cube/Highlight, Suil would have the light form Lighting/Flash, Steven would have Light/Flare while Woobin would have moonlight. Luminous would then begin to cover various songs showcasing their on going ability to perform live, while some songs even offered an insight into the members own music tastes. Some of the fan favourites would include: 8Letters (Original by Why Don’t We), Always Remember US This Way, Butter (Original by BTS), Kill This Love (Original by BlackPink), Vedo Girls Need Love Dance by YoungBin, and my personal favourite: Long Flight by Steven (Original by NCT Taeyong). Some fans however would find the group due to the K-Pop group A.C.E who would future Luminous as dancers and introducing them to their own fans. 

Luminous would go on to release their pre debut album ‘VISION’ which would include songs were the members would all take part in the creation of their solo track and being self composed by the members themselves. The members songs would include: Up All Night by Steven, ROD (Ride or Die) by Suil, Star by YoungBin and Orbit by Woobin, while the title track ‘Dreaming Luminous’ would be the groups first official (pre debut) mv. 

Later the group would finally get the chance to debut on September 9th 2021 with the album ‘YOUTH’ with the lead single ‘RUN‘, even holding an online showcase and performing to fans through the (then) popular platform VLIVE which allowed the members to perform to anyone across the globe. Through the performances of ‘RUN’, Luminous would catch the attention of new fans with a strong performance and catchy track. Since then, Luminous has released several beloved songs and tracks: Home Alone, All Eyes Down, Engine, Trouble, Want it more, Creature, Marionette, Your Ocean. And my personal favourites: Dreaming Luminous and Wish You Were Here.

The group would even achieve their 300 days anniversary, announcing the fandom name and meaning, 2nd Europe Tour, and most recently their 2nd anniversary.

Sadly however, on February 9th 2025 Luminous agency SE Group Entertainment would reveal a long awaited statement to fans about their disbandment after nearly four years of activity. The members would also reveal heartfelt letters to fans, according to a translation by a fan in the Instagram comments about the statements, the statement would reveal the following: 

“Hello, I’m Bareunson WIP. I sincerely thank the fans who love and support the group Luminous and members. After a long discussion and consideration, we and the Luminous members decided to terminate the ‘Luminous’ contract and activities. I would like to express my deep gratitude to Lumini and all the fans who have always loved and supported the members effort and growth for about three years from 2021. OUR Barunson WIP sincerely supports the new beginning of the members who worked well together. I hope that the expereinces of the past three yeras will serve as a good foothold/ stepping stones for Young Bin, Suil, Steven and Woobins new life journey, and I ask for your constant interest and encouragement in the new start for the members. Thank you”
