A BRIIZE Talks About Her Favourite Rookie Group, RIIZE

I would like to let the world know more about this newly debuted boy group, RIIZE, whom I adore.

Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from?

Hi! My name is Ky and I am a BRIIZE from Malaysia.

How and when did you enter the fandom?

I entered the fandom around 3 months ago on 30th September 2023, when RIIZE were only 26 days into their debut. I am an avid TikTok user, and RIIZE tends to promote a lot on that platform, making funny jokes and super GenZ relatable content. They appeared on my FYP and I found them funny, so I decided to give their songs a listen. And the rest is history.

What are the reasons why this rookie group is your favorite group?

For starters, their personalities bring so much joy to my life. I would say their sense of humor is pretty similar to mine, so I guess that makes it easier for me to connect with them in a way. Moreover, they also make really catchy songs. When I first heard their debut song, I replayed it so many times that it ended up on my Spotify’s “On Repeat” on that week.

For the readers who are completely new to the group and members, can you introduce them with your own words?

Starting with Shotaro, he is honestly one of the best dancers I have ever seen in the entertainment industry. The way he is always able to capture all the moves so smoothly yet still stay on beat amazes me. He also has a cute personality. If he sounds familiar to you, that is because he used to be a part of NCT! Next, we have my bias- EunSeok, who is literally the most charming idol I have ever seen. There is just something about him that catches your attention, the kind where you get a glimpse of him on the road, and you keep on thinking about him for the whole week. I mean, even the casters tried to cast him 4 times. The 3rd member, SungChan, also used to be a part of NCT along with Shotaro. He is incredibly tall, and I do think that is one of his main charms. Next, WonBin, who I think we all know by now. I think he is one of the most popular members of the group, and I can see why. Fans and netizens always describe him as someone who just walked out of a Manhwa, and I agree. The 5th member is SeungHan, who is currently on hiatus. I really think he deserves the whole world. Since pre-debut till now, he has been targeted by multiple sources and I just wish people could just leave him alone and let him chase his dream. He holds a special place in my heart, and I hope he comes back soon. Aside from all that, he is also incredibly charming and sings so well. The 6th member is SoHee, who is honestly just a big ball of sunshine. In every video or content, you are bound to see him with a big smile on the face and playing around with the older members. I guess that is the perk of being in the Maknae Line. Lastly, our maknae, Anton, who is a boy of many talents. Besides being a swimmer, he also plays the cello and knows how to produce music! He recently performed in a collab stage at “MAMA 2023,” playing the cello, and it was honestly a life changing performance. I play it at least once a day. He is also incredibly soft spoken, which I find so sweet. I hope my lengthy description of all 7 members interests more fans to join the fandom!

Who caught your attention at first and why? Did you know any members prior to their debut?

I think I speak for 90% of the fandom when I say everyone’s eyes landed on WonBin first. There is just something about him that is so charming, you just cannot help but fall in love. He also has a really funny personality because he looks cool and laid back on the outside but is scared of almost everything. I knew SungChan and Shotaro from NCT before their debut in RIIZE. Although, I do feel like their talents were overshadowed and they definitely do shine brighter in RIIZE, so I am incredibly happy for them.

Do you have a bias yet? If yes, tell us why.

Yes! My bias is EunSeok. I am not sure how to explain it, but he gives off a very mischievous and cool vibe, which is something I have noticed is the personality in almost all my biases in any K-Pop group. He is also really handsome and everything he does, from the way he talks, to the way he performs on stage, is just so attractive.

What do you particularly like in their debut title track? Do you have a favorite B-side?

I love ‘Get A Guitar’ since it is an upbeat and catchy song. Those are usually the kinds of songs in my playlist, so I was playing it on repeat when I found out about them. The dance is also very addictive to watch! As for a B-side, my favorite is ‘Memories’! It is a very cheerful and energizing song to sing along to and is a very meaningful song as well. The MV brings a lot of emotions to me because of how beautifully filmed it was.

What is your best souvenir with RIIZE?

My fan letter was liked by my bias, EunSeok, on the Weverse App, not once, but twice!! When I got the notification, I was so shocked. I was going through a hard time when I wrote It as well, so his interaction really gave me the motivation to pick myself up and keep going. I truly appreciate that he always takes time out of his busy schedule to read BRIIZE’s fan letters.

If you could spend the day with them, what would you want to do together?

Definitely go to the movies or the amusement park! Honestly, we could just sit in a café and have a heart-to-heart talk and I wouldn’t mind either. That is, if I don’t faint once I see them.

What is your biggest dream for RIIZE aside from being happy/healthy?

I really wish for them to succeed and be able to achieve all their dreams, and also have a successful world tour! I’d also love for them to be casted in K-Dramas.

If you could go to only one, would you go to a concert, fan meeting, or fan sign?

100% a fan sign because I’d get to see them up close and tell them all the things I want to tell them!

If you could write a book about RIIZE, what would the first and last lines be?

The first line has got to be something like “RIIZE and shine!”… and the last line would be “RIIZE will continue to rise.”
