A Fan From The US Talks About Her Favorite Actor ASTRO’s Cha EunWoo & Why She Loves Him

Oluwatosin Ogedengbe from the US is the next fan to answer our questions about her favorite actor. She is a fan of ASTRO’s Cha EunWoo! Check out how she became his fan, the reasons why she is a fan, the dramas she recommends, and much more insights about Cha EunWoo.

 

Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from?

My name is Oluwatosin Ogedengbe, and I am currently living in the United States.

 

Who is your favorite Korean actor/actress? And how and when did you become a fan?

My favorite Korean actor is my man Cha EunWoo. I became a huge a fan of K-Dramas earlier this year. Back in May, one of my friends from Indiana came to visit and we were talking about K-Pop and K-Dramas. When she suggested that I should watch the K-Drama: “Business Proposal”. I was on the fence about it at first but, I decided to give it a try. And I instantly loved it, which fueled my love of K-Dramas. I wanted to watch more dramas. So, I found more dramas to watch and the drama that caught my eye was “True Beauty”, which had Cha EunWoo in it. And from that moment forward, I fell in love with him.

 

What are the reasons why you love your favorite actor?

Umm.. I think this question is difficult to answer because there is so many reasons as to why I love Cha EunWoo. First of all, I think that he is amazing actor. I loved watching him in “True Beauty”. Second, he has an amazing voice. When I watched “True Beauty” and discovered Cha EunWoo, I had to know more about him. The more I learned, the more I found out that he is part of a K-Pop group called ASTRO. I was instantly surprised. So, I listen to some of their songs and I fell in love with his voice. Lastly, because he is a warm and genuine person. Everything about his personality shows that.

 

Can you recommend dramas or movies starring your favorite actor for new fans?

If I could recommend a drama to watch, it would be “Rookie Historian Goo HaeRyung”. I have never always been a fan of historical dramas, but this drama changed my mind. It was extremely funny, lighthearted, and it had the perfect amount of romance. It was fun getting to see to Cha EunWoo play such a funny character.

 

Do you have an all-time favorite scene? Can you describe it or share a video?

It is extremely hard to answer this question because I have watched so many of Cha EunWoo’s dramas. It is difficult to pick a favorite scene.

 

What was your favorite answer given by your favorite actor in an interview?

My favorite answer that Cha EunWoo gave was when he was asked about a place that he wished to visit in the future. He answered with Manila, and later stated how much he missed his fans. It also shows that amount of love that he had for his fans.

 

What is your favorite actor’s influence on your daily life or yourself? (ex: since he appears in a lot of historical dramas, I learn Korean history)

Cha EunWoo has influence my life in many ways. His gentle and genuine personality is a trait that continues to allude me. His amount of love that he has for fans is truly amazing.

 

Which character played by your favorite actor do you think deserved better?

To be honest, I would say his character Woo YeonWoo, from the short drama “Top Management”. I say this because although Woo YeonWoo was a bright person. I think he deserved a better love life. He deserved to be with someone.

 

What genre do you want your favorite actor to appear in? What’s the reason?

I would love to see Cha EunWoo act in a horror and thriller. This mainly because, I have seen act in so many romance dramas. So, I am curious as to how he would portray a serial killer or some type of badass character.

 

Which co-actor do you think had the best chemistry with your favorite actor?

I think Cha EunWoo had the best chemistry with Hwang InYeop. I say this because their dynamic towards the end of the show was extremely funny. Their dynamic is incredibly funny.

 

Name a role from one of their dramas (other than theirs) that you think they would’ve played well.

I think a role that Cha EunWoo would be perfect for, other than the dramas that he has played would be: Kim Tan from “The Heirs”. This is solely because I think it would be interesting to see play a rich heir.

 

Is there any role you want to see your favorite actor do?

I would love to see Cha EunWoo play a serial killer or some form of dark character. Since I am a writer, I am obsessed with writing dark stories. So, I think it would be cool to see Cha EunWoo take on a dark character.

 

What are the actors you would like your favorite actor to act with? What’s the reason?

I would love to see Cha EunWoo and Ahn HyoSeop act in a drama together. I am curious to see how would two of my all time favorites actors would act together.

 

If you could place your favorite actor in a K-Pop group, which group would it be and why?

This question might be the hardest one to answer because I am a huge fan of K-Pop and there are so many K-Pop groups. But, to be honest I think Cha EunWoo is fine with ASTRO. I could not think of ASTRO without him. But, if ASTRO and my number ultimate K-Pop group SEVENTEEN did collab, the music that they would create together would be epic.

 

What’s your favorite 2022 moment involving your favorite actor?

My favorite 2022 moment involving Cha EunWoo would be getting to watch interviews with him in it. I love watching interviews, and I especially love to watch interviews with my favorite artists, actor, etc because you, as a fan, get to see their personality shine. In this case, I love watching interviews with Cha EunWoo in it because, I can get to see his charming, bright, and genuine personality.

 

Describe them in 5 words.

If I could describe Cha EunWoo in five words they would be: Charming, Handsome, Bright, Genuine, and Amazing.

 

How do you support them the most?

I support Cha EunWoo by streaming as much of his music. I keep myself updated on all K-Dramas that he will be playing in. And lastly, since he started his YouTube channel, I have been watching all of his content.

 

If you could spend the day with them, what would you want to do together?

To be honest… If I could spend a day with Cha EunWoo, I first would be incredibly nervous and I’ll internally scream because I am a huge fan. Then, I try to be cool and it would not work out. But, If I could spend time with Cha EunWoo, I will start by cooking him some nice Nigerian dishes because I think it would be an amazing cultural experience. Then, maybe we would go to the beach or an amusement park because I love roller coasters. And then, we could end the day by going to a nice chill restaurant.

 

Do you feel there are any misunderstandings, things that are not well known, or any prejudices about your favorite actor?

I think the major misunderstandings that people have is the K-Pop idols cannot act in dramas. And I disagree with this. This is solely because that statement is not true. I can think of many idols who act and are good at it. In the case of Cha EunWoo his acting skills is amazing. I love the fact that he is extremely dedicated to his work.

 

Have you ever made a new friend because of K-Dramas?

Unfortunately, no one in my family appreciates the fact that I take over the TV to watch K-Dramas, but I have made a lot of friends because of K-Dramas.

 

For Kpopmap readers who are not familiar with Korean dramas/movies yet, please tell us what makes Korean actors and Korean dramas/movies attractive to you.

For me what makes Korean actors and dramas/movies attractive to me is their ability to act and the storyline that movies and dramas paint. As a writer, I can recognize when a movie and drama is written well or if it has fall short. K-Dramas paint amazing an story in which it makes me get attached to the characters. My sister calls me a hopeless romantic because of amount love and attachment that I feel. I love feeling what the characters are feeling. I also think that K-Dramas do an amazing job at writing without being cringey. At times, there can be some cringey parts but, not so much that it is unbearable.
