An American THE B Talks About Her Favorite Group THE BOYZ And Her Bias Eric

There are K-Pop fans across the globe who share the same passion. But on online platforms, it is hard to know about each other’ stories and K-Pop life. Even if we are in the same fandom, it is hard to get to know each other.

So at Kpopmap, we started the Kpopmap Fan Interview Project to get to know more about K-Pop fans from different countries: more about their K-Pop life and tastes and to give them the opportunity to share with our readers about their favorite group(s) and bias.

 

Kar is the next fan to answer our questions. She is from The USA and is a fan of THE BOYZ, and particularly of Eric! Check out how she entered the fandom, the songs and content she advises to new fans, and much more!

 

Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from?

My name is Kar and I am from New York, USA. I am 22 years old and have been a fan of K-Pop since I was 12 years old.

 

How and when did you enter the fandom?

My cousin and I share our love for K-Pop, and she was the reason I discovered THE BOYZ in 2017 when they debuted. I would say I officially entered the THE B fandom around September 2020 when THE BOYZ released ‘The Stealer’.

 

What are the reasons why you love your favorite group?

There are so many reasons why I love THE BOYZ. Each and every one of them are very talented and their music simply brings me joy. Whenever I feel down, I would listen to their music and it instantly puts me in an upbeat mood.

 

Who caught your attention at first and why?

Eric caught my attention at first because I was really amazed by his awesome dance and rap skills. I also really like his style.

 

Who is your bias, and why?

I love all the members of THE BOYZ equally and each and every one of them have amazing talent. My bias in this group, however, is Eric. As I previously mentioned, Eric caught my attention first. I really am impressed with his rap and dance skills. When I did more research on THE BOYZ, I discovered that Eric was my age and grew up in Los Angeles, USA. Seeing someone my age work very hard and be successful inspires and motivates me every day.

 

Can you recommend a title track and a B-side track for new fans?

Currently I have been listening to ‘WHISPER’…

 

… and ‘THRILL RIDE’ on repeat.

 

Can you also do the same type of recommendation for the group?

I would recommend all of THE BOYZ dance videos on Studio Choom. I feel that these videos really emphasize each and every one of their talents.

 

If you can spend a day with your bias, where will you go and what will you do?

If I could spend a day with my bias, I would go to my bias’ favorite restaurant or cafe and share with each other our favorite food and drinks. While doing so, we would talk about life such as growing up and our experiences.

 

Can you describe your bias in only one word?

Joyful.

 

What is your favorite group/bias’ influence on your daily life?

THE BOYZ continuously give me the happiness and motivation to pursue my goals and dreams. I have always wanted to visit South Korea from a young age and learn the language. That dream was made possible when I got accepted into University where I am able to fulfill it.

 

Have you ever made a new friend because of K-Pop?

I have made some amazing friends because of our similar passion for K-Pop. We were able to connect have great conversations from our biases to comebacks and even our life in Korea. It has been really wonderful to share this with wonderful people.
