Are you also curious about fellow K-Pop fans?! Let’s hear their stories and interests in Kpopmap Fan Interview Project.

There are K-Pop fans across the globe who share the same passion. But on online platforms, it is hard to know about each other’ stories and K-Pop life. Even if we are in the same fandom, it is hard to get to know each other.

So at Kpopmap, we started the Kpopmap Fan Interview Project to get to know more about K-Pop fans from different countries: more about their K-Pop life and tastes and to give them the opportunity to share with our readers about their favorite group(s) and bias.

Tyrone Redman is the next fan to answer our questions. He is from The island of Trinidad and Tobago and is a fan of BTS, and particularly of JungKook, Jin, and RM! Check out how he entered the fandom, the songs and content he advises to new fans, and much more!

What are the reasons why you love your favorite group?

The reason why I love this group is that they bring joy and meaning into my life because I had a lot going on but they help in so many ways.

Who caught your attention at first and why?

JungKook, Jin, and RM caught my attention they have different personalities that give me the inspiration to grow love, understand myself, and be proud of the person I am. Because I’m gay, things were hard enough to handle but those three, especially RM, taught me to be brave and love who I am.

Who is your bias, and why?

As I mentioned above my biases are JungKook and Jin, they have a wonderful voice, style, and fashion, but also RM shows me leadership. He makes a good impression of what he believes in and stands by his devoted speeches that sing so powerfully, and for that, I’m thankful.

Can you recommend a title track and a B-side track for new fans?

The songs I can recommend are ‘Permission To Dance’…

… and ‘Dreamers’.

Can you share with us one of your favorite lyrics?

Lyrics from ‘Dreamers’
“Look who we are, we are the dreamers
We make it happen, ’cause we believe it
Look who we are, we are the dreamers
We make it happen, ’cause we can see it.”

Are there any words from the members you would like to share?

RM – “I am who I am today, with all my faults. Tomorrow I might be a tiny bit wiser, and that’s me, too. These faults and mistakes are what I am, making up the brightest stars in the constellation of my life. I have come to love myself for who I was, who I am, and who I hope to become.”

If you have a chance to cook for the group, what will you cook for them?

I would love to cook Kimchi, Tteokbokki and also I will add Caribbean food so that they can taste my culture.

If you can spend a day with your bias, where will you go and what will you do?

We will visit Namsan Seoul Tower because it’s a landmark attraction for visitors and we would explore so that my favorite bias would showcase the history behind it.

Describe them in 7 words.

My dream is to meet BTS members one day to share my appreciation and love to them. I would describe with the words leadership, outspoken, well-mannered, loyal, devoted, optimistic and sincere.

What is your favorite group/bias’ influence on your daily life?

BTS is my favorite group, and RM influences me to go toward my goals to be a male nurse in the future and always be who I am.

Tyrone Redman’s message for BTS:

My message here is for the group BTS. You guys showed me what is like to be loved and appreciated because I never had a good coming out as a gay boy living in the Caribbean, where they don’t accept people for being who they are. It was tough, sometimes I just wanted to give up and run away, nobody in this world ever really cared or understood what I have been through in life. That’s until I stumbled on you guys on social media with your speeches and songs that meant a lot to me. JungKook, I love your song ‘Dreamers’ because it brings joy and understanding in your lyrics, thank you for that. RM, there is so much I just want to say to you right now, you’ve been my idol and I grow to love myself even more because of you. As I write this to you, I’m crying with joy and happiness that you bring into my life. I wish to see you in person, in real life. I need to tell the world that you and the group heal me from my depression. Continue doing your best guys, I hope one day I can meet you all, especially you RM 🙈💝.
With love btsarmyforever💜💜💜💜💜💜.

Thank you for answering our questions, Tyrone Redman.
