To dive right into this original content series surrounding different artists, we will focus on the current member line up of iKON. We look at current activities, promotions, tours and more information to know since signing with their new company 143 Entertainment, being able to keep their name iKON. We also discuss their solo activities and solo SNS from the lens of a long term iKONic for every new fan.
Previously formed as 7 members, iKON has continued as a six member South Korean boy group underneath the new company 143 Entertainment. They originally appeared and was created via the survival show “Mix & Match” before debuting on September 15th, 2015 underneath YG Entertainment. The group became known for their hit songs which includes: ‘LOVE SCENARIO‘, ‘KILLING ME‘, ‘BLING BLING‘, ‘AIRPLANE‘, ‘WHAT’S WRONG ?‘, ‘I’M OK‘, and ‘BUT YOU’.
You might recognize them as they sold over 260K copies in Asia for their song ‘MY TYPE’. The song also won numerous awards, allowing the group to perform the song on KBS’s “Yu Huiyeol’s Sketchbook“. The group also has a total of 27 various music show wins.
The group would surprise fans with a 10 track album “TAKE OFF”. The lead title track, ‘Tantara’ and ‘U’ would pay homage to various iKON MVs with subtle hints and similar scenes. Song would also surprise fans by having the genre of his song, ‘Fighting’, as trot. DK and Ju-ne also received a solo song, which you can listen to on the album via Spotify here. The group would also make various fandoms laugh, due to the upload of their own lyric video for the song ‘Tantara’.
Although iKON’s Jay recently made his military enlistment, he revealed presents to iKONic with ‘BLUE MOON’ MV, ‘PARADISE’ Performance Video and ‘MAGNET’ Live Clip featuring Moon SuJin. You can listen to his album here.

Jay
Kim JinHwan used to go by his real name, JinHwan, before officially changing it to Jay. He is the supposed leader, main vocalist, and lead dancer within the group. He appeared in BIGBANG TaeYang‘s ‘Ringa Linga’ MV and is known for being able to play guitar, various dance performance videos, and more. You can keep up with him here: @gnani_____.
Song
Song YunHyeong used to go by his real name as well before changing it to his last name Song. This makes it easier for some international fans to pronounce. He is the group’s sub vocalist, visual, center, and unofficial cook. He is known for being Song Prince and Song Chef, which can be seen by his own YouTube Review and Cooking Channel 송슐랭 가이드 – SONGCHELIN GUIDE.
Bobby
Kim JiWoon, better known as his stage name Bobby, is the main rapper, sub vocalist, and face of the group. He is best known for being apart of Team B on “WIN (Who Is Next?)“, winning the South Korean hip-hop competition program “Show Show Me The Money 3“, MOBB, appearing in Hi SuHyun‘s ‘Im Different’, TaeYang’s ‘Ringa Linga’ MV, and featured in a remix of League of Legends 2018 track ‘RISE’.
You might recognize Bobby as he went viral within several K-Pop fandoms for how well iKONic handled his wedding announcement of his non-celebrity fiancé and for becoming a father. For his last solo comeback, Bobby helped in directing and showcased various ideas of what he wanted for the song.
DK
Kim DongHyuk also announced a change to his stage name for similar reasons as the other members, wishing to be called DK. He is the main dancer and sub vocalist within the group. He is known for appearing on “K-pop Star Season 1” and the “King of Masked Singer“. He often takes to his Instagram, @ _dong_ii to talk about his life, his favorite movies and recommendations for iKONic, letter to fans and sharing his hand written poetry or poetry he relates to. He has also mentioned on the “GQ Korea” YouTube Channel that Nike Korea has sent him a special gift due to the idol talking about his love for shoes and fashion.
Ju-ne
Koo JunHoe, better known purely as Ju-ne, is the main vocalist in iKON and has appeared in “K-pop Star Season 1”. He has also taken jiu-jitsu classes. If you are interested in dramas, you might recognize him as JinHo in the drama “Bora! Deborah“.
