Originally kicking off with pre debut activities and promotions in Japan in 2024 underneath their former name TRY (트라이) (which was short for Trend is Remind of You), the group would announce on their social media (SNS) pages that they would be updating their name including a logo reveal.
Throughout their pre debut promotions, the group would gain attention for their visuals, charms, loveable personalities and unique style. For most of the members they would have experience on survival shows such as the unit and be former members of previous groups and even acting, while for Kim MinSeong (Doyul) would appear to have history in acting and as an influencer/ youtuber.
During their pre debut promotions, fans would be updated on Instagram and X/Twitter about the official name change to the account and new name reveal. Within this time, not only would changes to the members stage names be revealed but the groups name would also change their group name from TRY to ‘AWIN’ ahead of their debut.
As the group would gear up for their release, they would release photos/pictorials of the members before fans would be notified of the creation of their youtube channel which would share the release ‘Hashtag #Cheese’ which showed off the members in youthful, trendy, hip fashion on February 16th 2025 KST (Korean Standard Time).
