Born to Perform – Lapillus Conquers Big Stages

MLD Entertainment

Considered as one of the most underrated rookie K-Pop groups, Lapillus has proven time and again that they have the talent, the charisma, and the guts and drive to shine in the K-Pop world.

Lapillus is a multinational and multilingual girl group composed of Chanty (Filipino-Argentinian), Shana (Japanese), Yue (Chinese-American), and Bessie, SeoWon, and HaEun (Korean).  They debuted in June 2022 under MLD Entertainment and stood out with the digital single “Hit Ya!”  Lapillus then followed through the momentum with a quick comeback in September 2022 with the mini album “GIRL’s ROUND Pt. 1” where they not only showed their synchronized dancing skills yet again, but also showcased their vocals in songs such as ‘GRATATA’, ‘Queendom’, and ‘Burn With Love’.

More recently, on June 21, 2023, a day after their one-year anniversary, Lapillus had another comeback with “GIRL’s ROUND Pt. 2.”  Its diverse sound satisfied the equally diverse taste of the group’s fandom, Lapis, and caught the attention of other K-Pop fans. From the girl crush ‘Who’s Next’ and ‘Marionette’, to the festive ‘ULALA’, and finally to the catchy, albeit breakup song, ‘Paper’, this mini album left the fans, new and old, craving for more. Their debut in Japan on August 2, 2023, was also a success where they released Japanese versions of ‘Hit Ya!’ and ‘Who’s Next’.

In a little over a year, they traveled to several countries such as the Philippines, Vietnam, USA, Mexico, and Japan.  With each promotion, they made their mark and gained new followers.

Slowly but surely, they are being recognized and have attended various big stages and international events, which includes the following.

7th Asia Artist Awards (AAA) in Japan (December 13, 2022)

Won Focus Award in music.  Performed ‘GRATATA’ during the ceremony and ‘WOW BB’ collaboration stage with TFN during the after stage.

Just recently, it was announced that Lapillus will be performing at the 2023 AAA in the Philippines on December 14, 2023.

Although they haven’t achieved the same accolade as others, it does not deter them.  Instead, Lapillus continues to strive harder to improve their craft in order to reach their dreams of making it big in the K-Pop world and meeting Lapis globally.  They are akin to diamonds in the rough, hidden gems waiting to show their brilliance to the world.
