The grayscale photo, posted on BTS’ official X (formerly Twitter) account, showed a shirtless V leaning against a wall, with his real name “Kim Taehyung” written at the center of the poster.

The poster also contains the lyrics “I still wonder wonder beautiful story / Still wonder wonder best part / I still wonder wonder next story / I want to make you mine,” from the 28-year-old singer’s first self-composed song “Scenery” released in January 2019.

In a notice on fan community app Weverse on Wednesday (June 26), BigHit Music revealed that “Type 1” is a photobook that “captures V’s moments of complete rest, revealing his comfortable and natural self as he takes a break from his busy schedule to enjoy some time alone.”

“V participated in every step of the planning and production, from selecting the travel destination to deciding on the title and the photobook’s components,” it added.

The music label also dropped V’s “TYPE 1” teaser on YouTube.

“TYPE 1” will have two versions: “TYPE 1” Photobook and “TYPE 1” Magazine Ver.

Pre-orders for ‘TYPE 1” will begin on June 27 and the release date will be on July 9, which coincides with BTS’s fanbase 11th anniversary.

In March, V released his solo single FRI(END)S, which ranked No. 65 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the week of March 30.

His debut solo album “Layover” was released in September 2023. It made history as the first album by a K-pop soloist to have every track surpass 100 million streams on Spotify, according to chart data on X.

The BTS singer also starred in IU’s “Love Wins All” music video in January and was featured in UMI’s song “Wherever U R” in December.

V is currently fulfilling his mandatory military service. As of writing, Jin is the only BTS member who has completed his service.
