Within the K-Pop scene, there are many terms and phrases fans and even casual listeners can find across various social media and community forums. Some of the common phrases within the South Korean industry you might recognize includes “100 Days”, “1000 Days”, or “Celebrating (x) days”. The event itself is celebrated through fanmeetings, live streams, or special events depending on the group.
Celebrities within South Korea can often be found celebrating this impressive milestone due to its meaning to fans. Not all artists and celebrities are able to achieve 100 days, let alone 1000 days due to the competitiveness of the industry. Because of this, many cannot help but mention how reaching these accomplishments are even more special.
It’s no different for 엘스 (ELSE), an affectionate name used for fans of the South Korean Boy Group BAE173 (Before Anyone Else), as they celebrated this milestone with a YouTube live stream on August 15th, 2023. They thanked fans for this achievement, told jokes, enjoyed snacks, played games and more.
On November 19th, 2020, with their first mini album “INTERSECTION: SPARK”, BAE173 would debut as 9 members: Muzin, YoungSeo, DoHa, Bit, DoHyon, YooJun, HanGyul, J-Min and JunSeo. They are known for their songs such as ‘Crush On U’, ‘Loved You’, ‘JAWS’, ‘DaSH’, and ‘I can’t Sleep’. They were also known as “Team 13:00” due to their appearance on the South Korean competition show “Peak Time“.

1. Bit – ‘White Love’ Cover
Noh MinJae is the vocalist within the group and was born on July 21st, 2004. He is known not only for being a child model but for working a part-time job in an aquarium. Bit is also a big fan of ATEEZ, raising tropical fishes, and going to school with TAN’s JiSeong. The two often have lunch together with DoHyon (of BAE173).
2. YooJun – ‘White’ Cover
Before Christmas, Jeong Geon (YooJun) took to YouTube to release a video on his birthday on December 22nd, 2022. He released a special cover of the singer Paul Kim‘s ‘White’.
3. BAE173, VIXX Shangri-La Dance Cover
If you are a fan of the South Korean boy group VIXX, you might recognize this cover. Many within the comments and on SNS praised and thanked BAE173 for their beautifully done dance cover of the song ‘Shangri-La‘. The original MV is known for its stunning visuals. The song itself is a catchy R&B mixture with traditional music and soft EDM. Many fans hinted at the possible meaning of eternal paradise, or the garden of Eden.
The original MV was released on May 15th, 2017 by VIXX and captured many fans’ hearts. BAE173 would do the cover with their own charisma and charms and many Starlight (VIXX fans) often refer back to the group when it comes to their favorite covers.
4. EXO Kai’s ‘Peaches’ Dance Cover by Muzin
Kim HyunWoo (Muzin) is the main dancer and rapper within the boy group. He showed off his dance skills and made the camera shake during his cover of EXO Kai’s solo song ‘Peaches’.
5. YoungSeo Cover Medley
Ryu YoungSeo showed off his main vocalist skills in a English focused cover medley. He covered ‘Monster’ by Justin Bieber and Shawn Mendes, Justin Bieber’s ‘Baby’, and Jawsh 685 and Jason Derulo‘s ‘Savage Love’.
6. JunSeo’s Chance The Rapper – ‘Juke Jam’ Performance Video
Park JunSeo is the main dancer and vocalist within the group. On April 3rd, 2022 he surprised ELSE with a dance performance video for Chance The Rapper’s ‘Juke Jam’.
You might recognize JunSeo, since he covered SEVENTEEN‘s ‘Don’t Wanna Cry’ back in 2021. The cover itself is often considered a fan favorite. The idol is able to hit key points, express himself in the song as well as being able to perform a difficult song alone.
7-9. “Peak Time” Performances by BAE173
Throughout their time on the show “Peak Time”, they were referred to as Team 13:00. Within this compilation by K Contents Voyage, it showed WINNER’s MiNo enjoying their performance of SuperM‘s ‘Tiger Inside’ and other various performances underneath the name Team 13:00.
10. BAE173, BTS – “I Need U” (Immortal Songs 2 Performance)
‘I Need U’ is undoubtedly one of the most well known and meaningful songs to many fans and listeners. ‘I Need U’ set meaningful steps for BTS. Many idols are known to look towards them as role models and inspirations.
On November 22nd, 2020, the group BAE173 covered and performed the song for the audience and judges on the popular show “Immortal Songs 2“. Performing the song in high school uniforms and showcasing the groups talents in vocals and dance. The performance itself received a round of applause.
