Everything To Know About Bang YongGuk And His New Release Since Signing With YY Entertainment

Bang YongGuk, who is known for not only being the “Dad” of B.A.P, but for being the leader and main rapper of the group between 2012–2018. He is also known for setting up his own agency called CONSENT. Bang YongGuk has stated via his Instagram CONSENT Page: “Creative minds work together in pursuit of a new vision.”

Previously, we have discussed about lesser known artists under 400K Part I, where we talked about the increase in Bang YongGuk’s solo following both on YouTube, Spotify, and even on Instagram- including participating with the other 5 members of B.A.P for sending YoungJae off to military. Bang YongGuk currently sits at 779K followers, just shy of 1 million. An impressive feat for any soloists within the industry. The growth of Bang YongGuk’s pages have increased throughout his numerous releases, ‘Coming Home’, pre-military enlistment present to fans ‘Orange Drive’, before coming back to the music scene for the first time in a while with the prerelease single ‘RACE’ which would later be featured on the 6 track EP “2” in 2022, which would be his first release underneath CONSENT.

Bang YongGuk announced that his YouTube channel got hacked in 2020 during his military service (enlisted August 1st 2019, discharged May 2021). Unfortunately, the rapper would also later had to make a statement in both Korean and English to fans, warning them about the current issues they were having with people impersonating Bang YongGuk and his management on June 19th 2022. Meanwhile, DinDin (a long term friend of Bang YongGuk) showed his love and thanks to Bang YongGuk when he got discharged from military.

Since the beginning of his career, although Bang YongGuk has faced numerous hardships as many idols within the industry do, he has also since taken part in numerous activities since founding CONSENT and since recently signing in YY Entertainment: Bang YongGuk x former NUEST JongHyeon “Ding University”, a show that also featured the WINNER members before MiNo’s enlistment which you can view here: WINNER “Ding University Kid’s Show“, a guesting on ESQUIRE Korea’s YouTube, and “Something To Talk About” Short Film by Bang YongGuk EP 1 YouTube Release. The idol eventually hit 706K Subscribers before his newest and most anticipated release “THE COLORS OF LOVE” as an artist with YY Entertainment.
