Being lovers of K-Pop, how can K-Drama OSTs be out of the list? Especially when some are sung by K-Pop artists such as EXO’s ChanYeol. Though this post took time to write, as the songs were playing as I wrote so obviously I was listening more than writing, but the post is ready, so let’s begin.
Generally, an OST is an integral part of any K-Drama. They don’t only trend on the charts but at times they also feature the actors themselves. The OST at times expresses the scene more than the actions.
The songs ‘Ring Ding Dong’ and ‘Clap’ were on my playlist. Though I didn’t understand them, I loved hearing them. But this was only the beginning.
Today I am writing about those OST tracks that really amazed me.
Amazing K-Drama OSTs
Michael Learns to Rock – ‘Eternal Love’ from “Healer”
“Healer” is the first K-drama that I saw in 2017 and my official journey to loving K-Dramas and K-Pop began. From “Healer”, Ji ChangWook became my favorite actor. The OST is what made me watch “Healer” in the first place. When I saw this video, I couldn’t help myself from not watching it, and thanks to the English subtitles, I enjoyed every scene. The OST really expressed the love they had hidden in their (the characters) hearts for each other.
Ji ChangWook – ‘I Will Protect You’ from “Healer”
The OST ‘I Will Protect You’ won my heart. Although it was in Korean, I felt every word’s emotion that the singer was saying (at the time I was watching the series.) Then I saw the video on YouTube and found the song is sung by Ji ChangWook. Since then I fell in love with his acting and singing.
BTS’ Jin & V – Even If I Die, It’s You from “Hwarang”
“Hwarang” is special as it made me an ARMY. After the series ended, I saw the cast’s interview and found MinHo is from SHINee, the group of my favorite song ‘Ring Ding Dong’ and that V is from BTS. The OST, ‘Even If I Die’, in question portrays the emotions the boys felt as they were getting ready for the duel. And, knowing it was sung by Jin and V, there’s no place left for any doubt.
EXO’s ChanYeol & Punch – ‘Stay With Me’ from “Goblin”
When I watched “Goblin: The Lonely and Great God”, the story was so beautiful, and the OST again won my heart. The OST “Stay With Me” is sung by EXO’s ChanYeol and Punch. The song is slow and perfectly portrays the emotions. Once again, you don’t need to understand the words as the emotions are clear. The song was my introduction to EXO, of whom SeHun is my favorite.
Jang JaeIn – ‘Auditory Hallucinations’ from “Kill Me Heal Me”
‘Auditory Hallucinations’ is another OST that makes me fall in love with the singer. And “Kill Me Heal Me” also got me another favorite actor: Ji Sung. The OST ‘Auditory Hallucinations’ pins the series in words perfectly. Through this OST all seven personalities of the main character, Cha DoHyun, can be felt.
EXO’s Chen, Baekhyun, XiuMin – ‘For You’ from “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo”
The OST “For You” by EXO’s Chen, BaekHyun, and XuMin is so beautifully sung, it’s definitely a plus in the series. As for the series, I don’t have to say much as even today it’s one of the most watched K-Dramas.
Jus2 – ‘Take’ from “He Is Psychometric”
“He is Psychometric” is a great series and I loved how it was executed. Likewise the OST ‘Take’ by Jus2 is sung beautifully by GOT7’s YuGyeom and Jay B. The song ‘Take’ perfectly expresses the love of Yoon JaeIn and Lee Ahn.
EXO’s Chen & Punch – ‘Everytime’ from “Descendants Of The Sun”
“Descendants Of The Sun” can be watched over and over again. Likewise the OST ‘Everytime’, sung by EXO’s Chen and Punch, can be put on repeat. It’s a great track for your Valentine collection. Song JoongKi made to my list of favorite actors from this series.
O.WHEN – ‘How To Say’ from “Suspicious Partner”
“Suspicious Partner” is also another series whose OST ‘How To Say’ is just beautiful. O.WHEN has a beautiful voice and his singing adds to the expressions the actors Ji ChangWook and Nam JiHyun want to express for their characters.
Punch – ‘Keep Me Busy’ from “King The Land”
“King The Land” has commenced and will be watched continuously by fans, as the story is amazing and 2PM’s Lee JunHo and Girls’ Generation’s Lim YoonA’s acting and chemistry is amazing. One of the OSTs of the series, ‘Keep Me Busy’ is special because it is sung by Punch. The way she is able to express the emotions of the character is worth mentioning. Now, I can say if the OST is sung by Punch, it will be beautiful.
Colde – ‘Star’ from “See You In My 19th Life”
The series “See You In My 19th Life” is an emotional rollercoaster. The OST tracks are sung by NCT’s DoYoung, Colde, Ahn BoHyun, Jo YuRi, and Sunwoojunga. Though all of them are the best, Colde’s ‘Star’ has a more soft and emotional feel to it.
Though there might be other OSTs that I have not heard as it’s not possible to see all of the dramas. “See You In My 19th Life” and “King The Land” are still pending as other series are on my watchlist. Nonetheless, I hope to watch them completely soon.
Till the next post, stay safe, stay healthy. Bye bye.
