Kang HyunWoo (강현우) is a current contestant of the MBC survival program “Fantasy Boys”, and is a former contestant of both Mnet’s “High School Rapper” and SBS’ “LOUD”. He had also auditioned for “Boys Planet” but was unfortunately rejected. He has everything and more you can ask for in an idol – really.

One of HyunWoo’s main talents is his insane producing and composing skills! Throughout his time on “SBS LOUD”, HyunWoo only performed original compositions (with an exception of the live artist rounds). On his YouTube channel, oooWOO, he has both covers and personal songs! Most of his covers’ instrumentals are either reworked or produced on his own, and all of his music is personally made by him. This is one of his own songs, titled ’44 (뽀뽀)’! Both the song and music video were fully created by him.

HyunWoo is such a sweetheart! He’s always portrayed himself as an extremely kind and selfless person with nothing but love for his fans, friends, and people who support him. On “LOUD”, during the casting round, HyunWoo performed an original song titled ‘Mint Choco’. He had explained that the meaning behind the song was that he, similarly to mint chocolate, may not cater to everyone’s taste, however, he hopes there are still people who love him as he is. Sweet, right? He’s always showing off his cute, gecko-like smile, and you can really tell he loves to sing and he loves being on stage.

 

3. His insane dancing and choreography skills!

HyunWoo is also such an amazing dancer! A lot of his work is self-choreo, which is another insanely impressive aspect! One of the things he did while on “LOUD” was choreographing for the performances. Although his audition to “Boys Planet” was rejected, his audition video contains not only two self-made songs of his, but both contain wonderful self-made choreography! Both complete different concepts as well, which portrays his versatility as an artist.

 

4. His crazy rapping!

HyunWoo is such a great rapper! Of course, him starting with “High School Rapper” says enough. HyunWoo has a great flow and tone, and his rapping is truly no short of amazing. There’s been multiple cases of him showcasing how great of a rapper he can be, though he mainly sings.

 

5. His beautiful voice!

HyunWoo is no short of a beautiful vocalist. His voice is like honey to one’s ears, truly! His tone of voice is so satisfying to your ears and he pulls off multiple different concepts. His vocal range is insane, too! HyunWoo is one of those singers where once you start listening, you can’t stop! He has consistently proven he can not only sing well, but he can hit such beautiful high notes.
