Kpopmap Fan Interview: A Brazilian YOUNIZ Talks About Her Favorite Group YOUNITE And Her Bias EunHo

There are K-Pop fans across the globe who share the same passion. But on online platforms, it is hard to know about each other’ stories and K-Pop life. Even if we are in the same fandom, it is hard to get to know each other.

So at Kpopmap, we started the Kpopmap Fan Interview Project to get to know more about K-Pop fans from different countries: more about their K-Pop life and tastes and to give them the opportunity to share with our readers about their favorite group(s) and bias.

 

Quesia is the next fan to answer our questions. She is from Brazil and is a fan of YOUNITE, and particularly of EunHo. Check out how she entered the fandom, the songs and content she advises to new fans, and much more!

 

Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from?

I’m Quesia, I’m 21 years old and I’m from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

 

How and when did you enter the fandom?

I joined the fandom as soon as the first trainee photo was revealed by BRANDNEW in November 2020. I remember to this day that it was WooNo’s photo, I was very excited seeing the photos and waiting for more to meet the group.

 

What are the reasons why this rookie group is your favorite group?

I’ve been listening to K-Pop since I was 13 years old, and I’ve seen many groups debut, but YOUNITE and another group can manage to do all kinds of performance and style, from hip-hop to high school concept.

 

What do you think differentiates this rookie group from the others?

As I said, it is the way they can make any concept perfectly and always putting in even more effort.

 

For the readers who are completely new to the group and members, can you introduce them with your own words?

Well, EunHo is the oldest member but you can easily confuse him with the maknae of the group because of his sweet smile. Steve is the American member in the group so he speaks English very well and he’s a shy boy but that ends up making him really cute. HyunSeung is the member with the natural talent for dancing and is a former Short Track athlete. EunSang is the member who can win your heart easily just by smiling, he has a very sweet vocal that makes YOUNIZ melt in love. HyungSeok can say that he is the most playful member of the group and the member who can make everyone around him laugh, and has a talent for rapping. WooNo is the member who has the sweet and innocent look. Surely, WooNo must have come out of a cartoon. Dey, even with his cute face, can make amazing raps that can win the hearts of everyone who listens. KyungMun is the member with the honey-sweet vocals and sweet gaze. SiOn our maknae, he can easily be an MC in the future, besides being able to rap and vocal, he can do anything.

 

Who caught your attention at first and why? Did you know any members prior to their debut?

The member that catches my attention the most is SiOn, because even if he is the youngest he has a lot of charisma, and he can do anything. And yes, I’ve known EunSang during his soloist period, his stage presence always caught my attention.

 

Do you have a bias yet? If yes, tell us why.

Yes, it’s EunHo. It’s because during my school days I didn’t have many friends. EunHo and I were born in the same year, so I feel like we could be friends who tell jokes together easily.

 

What do you particularly like in this debut title track? Do you have a favorite B-side?

The title track is cute. I really like this concept, since everybody is a hip-hop concept, already showing another side of the group. I think my B-side favorite is ‘YOUNI-BITH’. It has a unique concept and I see the members did a great job on the song.

What are the things you are looking for in their future activities?

I hope that in the future all YOUNITE members have all their dreams come true, seeing them happy and smiling makes me happy and have a much better day.

YOUNITE! Congratulations on your debut! I waited a long time to hear your voice and see your performance. I will always root for you! Whenever you feel weak, remember that there are YOUNIZ all over the world cheering for you. Even with the different time zone, we are here for you and we love each of you so much! Thank you so much for the hard work, thank you so much for working everyday. I hope that someday YOUNITE can meet YOUNIZ in Brazil! We love you!
