Kpopmap Fan Interview: A Colombian TO MOON Talks About Her Favorite Group ONEUS & Her Bias LeeDo

There are K-Pop fans across the globe who share the same passion. But on online platforms, it is hard to know about each other’ stories and K-Pop life. Even if we are in the same fandom, it is hard to get to know each other.

So at Kpopmap, we started the Kpopmap Fan Interview Project to get to know more about K-Pop fans from different countries: more about their K-Pop life and tastes and to give them the opportunity to share with our readers about their favorite group(s) and bias.

 

ʚGabyɞ is the next fan to answer our questions. She is from Colombia and is a fan of ONEUS and more particularly of LeeDo! Check out how she entered the fandom, the songs and content she advises to new fans, and much more!

 

Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from?

Hi, I’m ʚGabyɞ from Colombia. I’m 26 years old and I’m a TO MOON since ONEUS’ LIVED era.

 

How and when did you enter the fandom?

I saw ‘COME BACK HOME’ MV on June 20, 2020 and immediately fell in love with them and also decided to become their fan and support them for the rest of my life.

 

What are the reasons why you love your favorite group?

Their music is amazing, like no others, they have the best no-skip discography, Korean and Japanese, they’re truly versatile artists in all aspects, specially in music and concepts. Also they’re wonderful human beings that make me feel proud of them and of myself everyday, they teach me important things of life like age doesn’t matter when it comes to pursuing our happiness, we have the right to try different paths and we should never feel ashamed for wanting to try something from the past or return to an old path, not knowing what we want now is also right, all these and more through their songs and music and when they give us advises, I love it a lot, I love them a lot.

 

Who caught your attention at first and why?

LeeDo caught my attention at first because of his very low voice tone and specifically his first rap in ‘COME BACK HOME’.

 

Who is your bias, and why?

My bias is LeeDo because of his incredible talent, he’s the main rapper of ONEUS along with Ravn but he also has a wonderful singing voice and as he says he sings a lot in ONEUS’ songs, when he raps his voice is very low as well as when he speaks but when he sings his voice is very sweet and different, he’s also an amazing dancer, really precise and powerful and he participates in the composition of ONEUS’ songs also along with Ravn and sometimes with SeoHo. As well because of his personality and way of being, despite his low voice he’s very sweet, cute and has a big and pure heart, he’s always grateful with the members for being in ONEUS and with TO MOON for supporting and loving him unconditionally.

 

Can you recommend a title track and a B-side track for new fans?

The title track ‘LUNA’ because with this one they won their first win, this song has a lot of achievements and a deep meaning for ONEUS and TO MOON.

 

The B-side ‘Life is Beautiful’ which also has an English version, because of the lyrics, this song is the one that has the most beautiful lyrics that collects most of the messages and advises that ONEUS always give to us.

 

Can you recommend a fancam, V Live, cover video, cover dance, or individual content video of your bias to our readers?

I recommend all his content because he always shows his wonderful talent on each one of them. You can realize his versatility in all of their fancams, if you watch a ‘No diggity’ fancam and then an ‘Airplane’ fancam you can see that he’s a performer. In his cover videos he likes to show his singing voice, you can check his covers of ‘Start’ by Gaho and ‘MISSING YOU’ by 2NE1, you will be very surprised by his unique voice.

 

 

 

 

Can you also do the same type of recommendation for the group?

As I said with LeeDo I recommend all ONEUS’ content because they always show their amazing talent and versatility on each one of them. If you watch every single stage of their title tracks like ‘No diggity’, ‘BLACK MIRROR’ or ‘LUNA’, their 2021 title tracks and then an ‘Airplane’ or ‘BBUSYEO’ stage that are B-sides you can see that all of them are performers and they have a different concept every comeback and era. If you want to know them better, their personalities and way of being I recommend all their ONEUS DO IT videos because on these they just have fun and you too if you watch it, the Dumpling Game video is one of my favorites ONEUS DO IT.

What is your favorite group/bias’ influence on your daily life?

They bring me happiness every second of each day of my life since I met them. With their passion, determination and hard work they encourage me to be like them in my own life and with my dreams and projects.

 

What is your favorite side of fangirling/fanboying?

The people I met thanks to them that now some are my closest friends with who I share my love of them, the experience of listening their perfect music whenever I want and the happiness and proud I feel every day because of them.

 

Do you feel there are any misunderstandings, things that are not well known, or any prejudices about your favorite group from other fans (non-fans)?

Yes, I feel they don’t get the recognition they deserve because they aren’t doing the same type of music that the rest of the 4th generation groups are doing and that the people of this generation are used to listening, their music is a combination of the past K-Pop generations type of music, more R&B type but also really versatile and with a perfect production. If you give yourself the opportunity to listen to their music and get to know them a little you will be surprised by their spectacular discography, breathtaking talent, amazing performances and stage presence, versatility and different concepts every comeback, era and project like digital singles, concerts, fanmeetings and more, all these are the reasons why they were given STAGE GENIUSES, CONCEPT KINGS and REPRESENTATIVE PERFORMERS nicknames by which they are known in the industry.
