Kpopmap Fan Interview: A Filipino TREASURE MAKER Talks About Her Favorite Group TREASURE And Her Biases Haruto & Mashiho

There are K-Pop fans across the globe who share the same passion. But on online platforms, it is hard to know about each other’ stories and K-Pop life. Even if we are in the same fandom, it is hard to get to know each other.

So at Kpopmap, we started the Kpopmap Fan Interview Project to get to know more about K-Pop fans from different countries: more about their K-Pop life and tastes and to give them the opportunity to share with our readers about their favorite group(s) and bias.

 

Hannah Watanabe from the Philipines is the next fan to answer our questions. She is a fan of TREASURE, and particularly of Haruto and Mashiho. Check out how she entered the fandom, the songs and content she advises to new fans, and much more!

 

Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from?

Hello, I am Hannah Watanabe (code name). I’m 23 y/o and I came from the Philippines.

 

How and when did you enter the fandom?

I saw TREASURE’s ‘BOY’ MV on YouTube then I was being curious that time so I played it until I got hooked by them.

 

What are the reasons why you love your favorite group?

TREASURE has something special that I can’t see it from the other groups. Aside from that, TREASURE is a group of ALL-ROUNDER, their VISUALS, characters and their charisma hits different. Each member has their own uniqueness. TREASURE IS A COMPLETE PACKAGE GROUP ✨.

 

Who caught your attention at first and why?

Actually I knew Haruto first before they debuted. I saw the post about him and his visual really caught my attention. They also said that he’s a Japanese and ready to debut at YG ENTERTAINMENT as one of the TREASURE member. I searched everything about him then I knew that he’s more than a visual. He can dance POPPING, he’s a lyricist and a composer, can do beatbox, singing and ofcourse his specialty, RAPPING.

 

Who is your bias, and why?

My bias is Haruto, and also Mashiho. Sorry, I can’t leave either one of them but still OT12. Why? I don’t know the reason, it’s just these two have a special place in my heart.

 

Can you recommend a title track and a B-side track for new fans?

I will go for ‘JIKJIN’ for the title track and ‘DARARI’ for B-side. But actually, all TREASURE songs are bop. I mean it’s hard to choose since all of their songs are really good.

 

 

Can you recommend a fancam, V Live, cover video, cover dance, or individual content video of your bias to our readers?

I will recommend their ‘BANG BANG BANG’ COVER by BIGBANG (it’s a Japanese Version).

 

Can you also do the same type of recommendation for the group?

If others ask me how will they start to know about TREASURE then I said to watch “TMAP” known as “TREASURE MAP” on YouTube. I will also tell them that TREASURE is very respectful towards other people. They are so honest either on cam or off cam.

 

Can you share with us one of your favorite lyrics?

“NO MASTERPIECE WAS EVER CREATED BY A LAZY ARTIST.” -by HARUTO WATANABE.

 

What is your favorite group/bias’ influence on your daily life?

TREASURE is one of my comfort zone, and one of my source of happiness, and motivation. They inspired us and they love their fans very much.

 

What is your favorite side of fangirling/fanboying?

Because of TREASURE, I always feel in love everyday.

 

What type of concept do you prefer:

I always believe that TREASURE can pull off whatever concept it is so I prefer all hehehe.

 

Can you describe your bias in only one word?

My bias is my daily vitamin hahaha.

 

What’s your favourite 2022 moment involving your bias?

Since they had a comeback last February 2022 and I think that comeback was one of their best comebacks since they got their first ever music show wins and gained a lot of fans especially because of ‘JIKJIN’ and Queen ‘DARARI’ to the point that most of my friends and my classmates were calling me “TREASURE” or “DARARI”. If they heard someone playing or listening to ‘DARARI’ then they suddenly remembered me. Even my 1y/o niece became a huge fan of ‘DARARI’ because of me. She really likes ‘DARARI’ also ‘JIKJIN’ because everytime I played ‘JIKJIN’, she’ll do a Diamond sign in her both hands and even dancing in some of the Chorus part. Well that’s the “TREASURE EFFECT”.

 

Name a variety show/content show that you would love to see your bias on? Tell us why.

I’m wishing that they could go to “Knowing Bros” because I really wanna show to everyone how funny TREASURE is, how talented TREASURE is, how respectful TREASURE to everyone and more skills and capabilities to show.
