Kpopmap Fan Interview: A FOR X Talks About Their Favorite Group OMEGA X & Why They Love Them So Much

There are K-Pop fans across the globe who share the same passion. But on online platforms, it is hard to know about each other’ stories and K-Pop life. Even if we are in the same fandom, it is hard to get to know each other.

So at Kpopmap, we started the Kpopmap Fan Interview Project to get to know more about K-Pop fans from different countries: more about their K-Pop life and tastes and to give them the opportunity to share with our readers about their favorite group(s) and bias.

Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from?

I’m the only admin of @omgxupdates on Twitter, I go by the pronouns of they/them.

 

How and when did you enter the fandom?

I’ve been helping them promote their music, encourage people to be a part of us- FOR X, and providing updates such as fancafe translations since may 2021. I’ve known some of the members already since I stan their previous groups such as 1Team.

 

What are the reasons why you love your favorite artist?

First and foremost, I actually don’t have an ultimate bias 😆 it’s because I equally love them and it’s actually hard to choose only one, but the reason is that they individually radiates their own charm. And I love how all of their talent, skills, and personalities blend with each other.

 

Who caught your attention at first and why?

Based on their first ot11 photo, JeHyun caught my attention first since I thought he was Haruto from TREASURE at a first glance.

 

Who is your bias, and why?

I actually have no ultimate bias since it’s hard to choose one among those 11 talented and charismatic men ㅜㅜ

 

Which song by them caught your attention at first and why?

‘Ice tag’ was their song that caught my attention because of its powerful and addicting beat but now, my favorite song from their current album is ‘Dance with u’ and ‘Airplane’.

 

 

 

Can you recommend a title track and a B-side track for new fans?

I’d like to recommend ‘Vamos’ & ‘Take’em all’ if they like powerful songs and ‘12.24’ & ‘All about u’ if they like slow tempo or ballad songs.

Can you share with us one of your favorite lyrics?

This is a very touching lyrics for me as I interpreted it that every dream of us can be easily achieved as long as there’s someone special to us who’ll help and motivate us throughout our journey.

 

Are there any quotes by your favourite artist that you would like to share?

It isn’t a quote but it’s the phrase they often say and it’s “you’ve done a great job” it’s simple but those words affect me so much and I’d love to read those words from them after a tiring day.

 

What kind of influence has your favourite artist had on your daily life?

They influenced me to study their language as well as the slangs, they also inspire me to not give up in life because we have our own right time and chance.

 

What is your favorite side of fangirling/fanboying?

Enjoying the contents and fandom jokes with my friends and co-FOR X. I also love the fact that we’re all active interacting whenever they’re having a comeback and promotions.

Do you feel there are any misunderstandings, things that are not well known, or any prejudices about your favorite artist from other fans (non-fans)?

One of the main issues of the non-fans to OMEGA X is that they often make fun of their name and that they’re accused of copying other groups even though they’re not. I find their name unusual at first too but I realized that it was pretty and suits them the most for they really give the vibe of being different and final boss in this industry. And for the issue of copying, it’s all accusations because non-fans often judge groups without gathering more information.

 

For you, what is your bias’ best stage outfits until now? Please share a picture or fan cam.

The comfy clothes with jerseys and shorts! They look so fun to watch with those outfits while performing.

 

What is your biggest dream for your favorite group/bias aside from being Happy and Healthy?

I’m hoping for their first win in a music show since we’ve already achieved a rookie of the year award which we’re grateful for.

 

If you go to only one, would you go to a concert, fan meeting, or fan sign?

A fan meeting and fan sign would be too overwhelming for me so I’ll choose concert! I wanted to have fun and enjoy their performance with my friends and co-fandom.

 

Do you have a dream subunit/unit?

I’d like a vocal sub-unit; JaeHan, HwiChan, Xen. Rap unit; HanGyeom, Hyuk, SeBin, YeChan. Dance unit; TaeDong, JungHoon, JeHyun, Kevin

 

Can you recall a moment where you cried/laughed with your bias?

I think the most memorable moment I had with them is when I also cried when they sang ‘Younger’ on their debut showcase, I remember watching them on my room and crying because it’s just too overwhelming to see them finally have another chance to thrive and work hard to achieve their dreams in this industry.

 

What is one thing that you think is unique about your bias/bias group?

I don’t think it’s obvious for the fans but we’re actually getting spoiled enough by how active they are in social medias; Twitter, Instagram, Vlive, and vibe, almost everyday we’re getting 8 – 11 / 11 daily updates in Twitter which is unusual to any idols because most of them rarely updates daily.

 

Would you like to see your bias group in variety shows? What type of variety show would you like them to do?

I would like them to do something where it involves playing with friendly pets while maybe having an interview, q&a, or quests.
