Kpopmap Fan Interview: A Mexican STAY Talks About Her Favorite Group Stray Kids

There are K-Pop fans across the globe who share the same passion. But on online platforms, it is hard to know about each other’ stories and K-Pop life. Even if we are in the same fandom, it is hard to get to know each other.

So at Kpopmap, we started the Kpopmap Fan Interview Project to get to know more about K-Pop fans from different countries: more about their K-Pop life and tastes and to give them the opportunity to share with our readers about their favorite group(s) and bias.

 

Laila from Mexico is the next fan to answer our questions. She is a fan of Stray Kids! Check out how she entered the fandom, the songs and content she advises to new fans, and much more!

 

Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from?

Hi, I’m Laila the best STAY and I’m from Mexico City.

 

How and when did you enter the fandom?

I got into the Stray Kids fandom when YouTube recommended me their pre-debut song ‘Hellevator’ and by clicking on that video, I realized that these guys made the kind of music I was looking for.

 

What are the reasons why you love your favorite group?

I love Stray Kids a lot, because they really work so hard in everything they do, their songs are a strength for me and I love how their lyrics are very meaningful to me, specifically their song ‘My Pace’ is one of the songs that I love most.
They literally have inspired since I met them until now.

 

Who caught your attention at first and why?

HyunJin’s dance impressed me and my first thought was that it was very interesting and attractive. I used to dance in the street with friends and when I saw HyunJin I really loved it and I remembered that days.

 

Who is your bias, and why?

They are all my bias now because they are wonderful and very talented, I love everything they do.

 

Can you recommend a title track and a B-side track for new fans?

Recently I could recommend ‘CIRCUS’, it’s the song I’ve been listening to the most, I recommend the b-side song ‘Muddy Water’ it really is an amazing song and with a good rhythm.

 

 

 

Can you recommend a fancam, V Live, cover video, cover dance, or individual content video of your bias to our readers?

I’d like to recommend ChangBin’s “SKZ-PLAYER” about his song ‘Streetlight’ it’s a great song and the lyrics are really wonderful.

 

Can you also do the same type of recommendation for the group?

Of course, I would recommend Lee Know dancing to ‘Dawn’.

 

Can you share with us one of your favorite lyrics?

‘Voices’, ‘Silent Cry’ and ‘Levanter’ have my favorite lyrics.

 

What is your favorite group/bias’ influence on your daily life?

Definitely Stray Kids, they give me joy and desire to move on, they also helped me a lot with my self-esteem and to meet more people, besides now I want to learn more about their language and culture. I won’t give up as long as his music supports me.

 

What is your favorite side of fangirling/fanboying?

My favorite side of fangirling is when they send STAY thank you messages, their words feel warm and real.

 

What kind of concept do you prefer: cute, dark, sexy, etc.?

Definitely dark and sexy but it’s Stray Kids so I think they can do any concept and I’m sure I’ll love it.

 

What is your best memory with your favorite group so far?

At the Stray Kids concert in the US, Japan and Korea, the final words of all of them were so wonderful and I was touched that moment because they are very grateful to us and always show how much they love each other, and how much Stray Kids loves STAYs (also they have a song called ‘Lovestay’).

 

Can you recommend words that your bias like to hear to new fans who don’t know yet about it?

I think some members like to hear about their beautiful faces and bodies, such as their progress in their workout, his dance, vocal etc.
But all the members like to hear how STAY loves them and his music too.

 

Can you share with the readers the first image you have saved of your bias on your phone?

OMG I think it was this picture of HyunJin.

 

Can you describe your bias in one word?

Wonderful.

 

For me, my bias is…

Everything, I can’t explain it in my own words, but in short it’s my everything.

 

Can you recommend a cute or funny video (30s)/gif of your bias to our readers?

Sure this is my favorite video so far, I couldn’t stop laughing for several minutes.

What is your favorite moment from 2022 involving your bias?

At the US concert, STAYs was screaming to Bang Chan “Best Leader” and the members also said that, so Bang Chan blushed and that was so sweet.

 

What is a random fact that you think people don’t know about them?

Ok, for people who aren’t STAYs, Stray Kids always touch their butts.

 

Name a variety show/content show you would like to see your preference on. Tell us why.

“SKZ-CODE” is so much fun, I love seeing them together doing missions, playing games, etc.

 

If you could spend the day with them, what would you like to do together?

A picnic with Stray Kids, a karaoke date, or playing video games would be so epic and so much fun.

 

Can you remember a time when you cried/laughed with your bias?

I was laughing when they made a live on YouTube for Stray Kids’s anniversary, that day my stomach hurting a lot because I couldn’t stop laughing like for 1 hour.

 

Name 1 quality in your bias that you would like to have.

I would like to have the quality that everyone has to be able to dance so well, they are incredible and they move easily, I love their movements and the creativity on their choreographies.

 

If your bias were to collaborate with another idol, who do you think would be the best?

Well I’m sure SeungMin would love to sing a song with DAY6 and also I think Stray Kids want make a collaboration with BTOB.
