If you are new to the music scene and are currently discovering new artists within music genres that you enjoy or are a long time veteran and diving deep into each release possible, music is something that is globally beloved with its various artists. Often, the artists and their various concepts, stunning stage performances, live vocals and sometimes hidden storylines within their music videos for their fans to find out.
Sometimes however with how large the industry is, it can sometimes be difficult to find new artists or upcoming artist with a certain amount of followers. This list contains various individuals I came across this June and new songs I came across through YouTube’s homepage suggestions due to previous content and music I have enjoyed within the past.
As the K-Pop and South Korea continues to take the world by storm and continuing to support and promote some of the biggest artists previously shared by Eunice in [ Spotify’s Wrapped Reveals The Platforms Top Korean Artists and Songs this year (2023 ]. There is no doubt there is always a new artist to discover!

Let’s take a small deep dive into some newer artists who recently made their debut, looking to debut soon, officially opened and new SNS and more that I found this year! Let’s dig in!

1. Ji Hyeonmin.
Born in October 2003 in IIsan, Hyeonmin would make his debut as an independent rapper during 2020 before becoming known for his appearance on the popular competition show HighSchool Rapper Season 4 where he would achieve his first collaboration with fellow contestants on the show for the song ‘GWTM Remix’ featuring Roh Yunha, D.Ark, Osun, YLN Foreign and LiTrilla.
I love shows like HSR4 and SMTM, its one of my go to’s when it comes to finding new artists I enjoy and finding incredible stage performances that offer such a variety of songs and artists.
HyeonMin can currently be found on SNS such as Instagram underneath the username ‘spthlaw‘.
2. JongYeon. (종연)
JongYeon is a South Korean singer songwriter who debuted in 2021 with the single ‘The End of Our Story’, throughout his career he has since opened up an official YouTube Channel where various covers and live clips are posted, and a SoundCloud account where fans can find more covers and new demos.
JongYeon is known to play the acoustic guitar and electrical, sharing various videos of him performing on smaller stages and showing off his talents as a singer.
Since his debut, JongYeon has released some of his more popular songs such as Will, Ash, Isle of Flowers, If Love Was There and Star. Currently sitting at a healthy 418 monthly listeners on Spotify. Intrigued readers are asked to check it out here.
Yuwol is a South Korean producer who debuted back in 2022 with the single album and title tracks, ‘잘해왔잖아’ (So Far So Good) and ‘Recipe’ which featured the artists Trade L, JAEHA, Mirani and Hash Swan. As of writing the draft version of this post, his Instagram [ yuwolur ] does not have any posts but he can be found underneath the same name over on his YouTube Channel where he has shared the visual film for the song ‘Recipe’.

4.Yeonsong Kim.
Kim YeongSong is a South Korean artist and musician known for her talents as a violinist, she would make her debut in 2020 with the song [ Lullaby ] before later releasing the single [ The Way for Tomorrow ] in 2021 before she would release her first album in 2023 entitled [ SkyLane ].
Skylane is an impressive feat within itself, the album features the following 10 tracks: Doorway to, Miro, Skylane, A Ring for Me, Night Song, Sand, The Way for Tomorrow (2023 Remastered VER), Playground, A Lullaby for You on a Silent Night and Night Song (Instrumental VER).
Since starting her career, she has performed at Risky Soul x 김연송 in a Joint Performance and has held various busking performances which she would share with her Instagram audience through different videos such as this, this and this. She would also perform with other artists/ her teams for [ Fallin’ Into Autumn ] in 2023.

5. Lee Jung Yoon.
Lee Jung Yoon is an artist and self described Music Producer as shared through her Instagram. She caught my eye because of her talents when it comes to vocals and her influences of r&b, ballad and indie music. Despite only having 44 monthly listeners, she would release her first single in 2021 ‘As Ever’ before she would begin to grow her discography. The discography can be found on various streaming platforms as shared by the artist which you can see here.
Whenever I’m doing research for something like this and my love for music in general, I like to listen to the artists music when doing so. Personally I really like her songs and recommend the following: Last Scene, DIVE, MOMENT (feat. Jeon Na Rae), For Youth (feat. Jung Da Un) and her recent release ‘Always Gonna Love You’ (feat. DOOR). Through her Instagram she shares how she is doing, her interests, behind the scenes of filming/recording and taking part in OST work such as [ Maam Chief ] and most recently [ Bro & Marvel ].
6. JUNE.
An artist I came across pretty recently and falling in love with the songs and finding the artist due to him collaborating with an artist I love called ‘Villain’, JUNE self describes himself through his Spotify about section as an artist who is a singer songwriter of the R&B genre, capable of trendy tracks which offers a relaxed atmosphere and unique groove, the artist has shared impressive tracks throughout his career so far.
From my personal recommendations such as Lullaby, Good Morning, Welcome Home, A day of weather, Anywhere and If You Wonder. He is currently serving his time fulfilling his mandatory military service as a private first class.
7. Miichi.
Miichi is a South Korean Indie band currently underneath Apnea Sound System and would made their debut as a four member band on May 26th 2022 with the single, ‘Bad Day’. The band consists of Red House who acts as the vocalist within the group and is apart of the R&B trio 1844, Kang Geon-Gu (Get Ku) who is the guitarist within the group and was previously a member of the band South Club, Yoo Seunghyun who is the bassist of the group and were also a member of WEEKDAY and APNEA while Kim Dong-Ha acts as the drummer of the group.
Miichi is a group with the motto ‘live your own life’ and is ideal for those looking for a group capable of catchy trendy music but able to put their own twist on it. Showing who they are through their most popular releases such as ‘The Wings’, ‘overnight’, ‘Always be with you’, ‘father’ and ‘Bad Day’. Their tracks are often recorded and mixed by the group themselves alongside Nthonius. The band makes music perfect for those long work commutes or for those just wanting to get away from reality for a moment, sometimes even the times you’re sitting at a cafe doing school work. They definitely have a single for everyone no matter who you are or what song genres you enjoy.
8. HeyMen.
Originally debuting back in 2016 underneath Munhwa Independent Label, the group would eventually move to Appeal Sound Music in 2020 were they would continue to use the name, ‘HeyMen’ (헤이맨). The band itself currently consists of the three members: Terry Kim who is the Guitarist and was recruited into the band in 2018, DoYeong who is the vocalist and Gongton (Jung Minho) who is the Drummer in the group.
The group as of writing this article currently has 2 thousand monthly listeners on Spotify and around the same over on their official YouTube Channel of the same name.
Since undergoing some member line up changes, the group has been active in promoting new music that continues to entice their fanbase with numerous vlogs, stage performances, festivals and more.
When it comes to song recommendations, I can’t help but recommend Gatsby, Mirror (Tic Toc), We Know Nothing and Make a Change.
If you enjoy smaller groups or wanting a band to start with before diving into the Korean Indie and R&B band scene, HeyMen are perfect for those fans who enjoy casual uploaded content ranging from live clips from fan concerts such as their 2024 HEEEY NEW Year Videos (What I assume to be their fan concerts), Grand Mint Festival Performances, Pre Listening Teasers to upcoming songs, lyric videos, military completion celebration videos, various youtube series such as HEEEPPENING, Vlogs, VS, Covers and or other funny videos this is the group for you.
