Luminous Steven to debut in Universe League Group

SBS has officially called a wraps of the survival show ‘Universe League’ which has been seen by many fans and viewers as the ‘male version’ or ‘second season’ of the original show ‘Universe Ticket’ which ended up debuting the team UNIS. The show itself consisted of 42 trainees of various nationalities and characteristics, it took place from November 22nd 2024 to January 24th 2025 and would have a total of 10 episodes.

Hosted by Jay Park, the show itself would separate the trainees into the three main teams; Team Groove, Team Beat and Team Rhythm. Each of the teams had their own managers some including former idols, current idols and producers, they would direct the teams throughout the episodes. As the show went on, it would become known to viewers for performances like Don’t Hit The Brakes, RollerCoaster, Butterfly, Give Me That (Original by WayV), IGNITION and more. The songs and stages offering different colours and styles, allowing the trainees to show themselves in different ways to the audience and viewers alike. 

At the end of the show only the top 9 voted for trainees out of 42 would be able to make it into the debut lineup of AHOF (All Time Hall Of Famer) which also means 9 in Korean. The group would consist of JL, Daisuke, Chih En, Park Juwon, Park Han, Zhang Shuaibo, Cha Woongki (Former TOO/TO1 Member) and Steven (Luminous Member).

Following the announcement of his participation on the show, Luminous’s Steven would make it into the final debut line up and would later end up celebrating his birthday with the group before also releasing a Polaroid still with a message written to fans on AHOF official Instagram Account. 

Since being a former JYP trainee, Steven would end up becoming a member of the 4 member boy group Luminous who would release a pre debut album on August 19th 2021 before debuting a couple months later on September 9th 2021 with the full album ‘Youth’ and the lead single Run. Many LUMINI (Luminous fandom name), hope that Steven’s participation can bring attention to the group since the group would join a new company, which brought up hopes of a brighter future for the rookie group.
