As the new year begins its often a time of change or a time to find new hobbies, new music artists, set goals for yourself that you either want to accomplish or add to your bucket list. For me, its often a time of reviewing the type of content I consume either in real life or online, this is the period I usually review the artists I found along the way, and even discover more music artists as I set up my playlists for this year (as well as continuously adding to it). Here are some of the artists I have discovered so far, some of my favourites from 2024 and more. From independent artists, solo artists, and artists I think deserve more attention for their music.

Without further a do lets take a look at the list of artists I think you should know going into 2025 or for your upcoming spring or cozy vibe playlists!

1. EB. (Former BlackSwan Member).

EB The Sunlight Hurts.

EB is a South Korean Soloist, Songwriter, Lyricist and composer underneath HYPLE Entertainment and WWWAVE, she actually debuted in 2018 with the song ‘Hmmm’ as an independent artist. I suggest her song The Sunlight Hurts.

2. LEL.

3rd [ HARMONY ] Full Album.

Capture.

According to his self described about page, LEL states that he is “Based in Seoul South Korea. LEL is a singer songwriter, blending a lo-fi vintage feel with modern pop elements. His music embodies a desire to traverse reality and surrealism, vividly capturing the depths of the human inner world.”

3. Grizzly.

Grizzly Biege Coat Live.

Story of my Friend.

One of my favourite recent artist discoveries, thanks to Pentagon’s Shinwon and his interaction with this artist on Instagram I was able to come across his music in the middle ish of last year. From thanking the singer for buying the Pentagon members new soccer gear, to cute little interactions in the comments on Instagram of them being supportive of each other, he has a vocal tone I really like and love listening to. I suggest pretty much all of his music, but if I had to be selective, story of my friend and beige coat would be where I would start.

4. BUMJIN.

A Letter Its Live Performance.

Scenery.

An artist I also really like, from his soft visuals to his stunning voice in songs like ‘Growth Ring’ and ‘Scenery’, I think he has a lot to offer to fans with his music. His melodies are really well done in my opinion, and are worth your time.

5. Joosiq.

‘Think about You’.

‘Baby I Need You’.

When it comes to finding new artists I often try to find music not only of my taste, but trying numerous songs no matter the genre. Around the end of 2024, I would be suggested the rapper and singer Yoon Joosik by the South Korean YouTube Channel ‘Studio Peanut Butter’. In their episodes for their show, ‘Everyone Can Sing’ they often frequent universities, middle schools or similar places to promote the artist. With a positive vibe and concept of the show, would they introduce the singer, “if you are on social media you can’t go anywhere without seeing him”/ he is really popular in Korea. And for good reason, from his kind visuals to his soft smiles, I really came to love his voice and be shocked at how many plays his music actually has, but just don’t see enough international fans talking about him. His most known and well beloved song ‘Baby I need You’ and ‘Thinkin about you’ are songs I suggest.

6. Sin Ye Young.

I Miss You a Lot.

With a Smile.

Sin Ye-Young is a South Korean singer who made her solo debut on November 20th 2019 with the single ‘Why Break Up?’ and would later go on to release her first extended play [ Monologue ] on January 24th 2023. Since then she has released numerous singles, and even taking part in OST (Official SoundTrack Work). One of my first artist discoveries of this year that I have really loved, she has some incredible vocal talent, I personally love ‘With a Smile’ (released in 2024), and I miss you a Lot (released in 2023).
