OnlyOneOf’s Rie enlists in military

I came across OnlyOneOf in late 2019 after hearing their debut songs ‘time leap’ and ‘savanna’ which were featured on the groups first single [ dot point jump Vol1 ]. I would take my own ‘hiatus’ from K-Pop in general throughout this time, later re discovering the group and ‘officially’ becoming a fan of the group in late 2021 just before 2022. Falling in love with the groups seemingly viral covers of songs like MALAMENTE, Savage Remix, Don’t Start Now, Dolphin and Spring Day, where the group took the songs themselves and added their own colours to them, the covers were a hot topic at the time amongst K-Pop fans and was part of the reason for coming back to the group after such a long time, falling in love with songs like OnlyOneOfYou, picassO, fragile, dOra Maar, ultimate bliss and night flight. 

It wouldn’t be long before OnlyOneOf would announce that they were joining WeVerse, a popular global artist to fan community that connected various artists and fans across the globe. Here is where I would get responses and excitement from Rie after showcasing my newly received albums from 8D Entertainment, which included the album Seoul Collection and Junji’s solo track ‘be mine’ (which also largely featured Rie within the song and mv), before showing off the Rie photo card, little did I know at the time that I would get the special chance of doing a heart with Rie during the group photo after the fan sign event (which was held before the concert) in Vancouver for my birthday. 

Despite the issues OnlyOneOf may have faced throughout their career, they are becoming known for songs and their performances that explore various bold, sensual concepts, exploring soft masculinity, deep visual story telling approaches in both solo and group work but also largely becoming known for being a safe space for those within the LGTBQ+ community thanks to their themes and issues in solo debuts like Begin, Be Free, be mine, Because, and more that set them apart from such a large industry. 

To end off 2024 on a positive note the members would successfully and healthily complete their tour with more exciting things on the way for 2025. From releasing numerous content to their latest announcement, OnlyOneOf would announce their latest single ‘Stay’ as well as Rie’s military enlistment. 

OnlyOneOf and Rie will release their digital single ‘Stay’ on 2025.01.10 and will be their first release since [ Things I can’t say Love ] EP back in 2024.
