“In our lives, there are things you can only see after the lapse of time, such as why such things happened to me, why I met those people, and why that coincidence even happened.”

Forever 9

I will soon be 4 years old as a FANTASY, and the last few months have not been easy because many things have happened in my personal life, but also in the fandom due to the recent news of RoWoon.

I think that like many of us who met SF9 at the end of 2020 and beginning of 2021, our first memory was when “Extraordinary You” was being broadcasted or ending. We were fascinated by RoWoon’s chivalry and personality. Beyond his performance, it was a surprise to discover that he was also an idol. In my case, I knew this because my sister told me so a few days later. I ended up looking for things about the idol and seeing what his relationship with his group was like, since the dynamics of actors and idols are very different. Those who tend to have a duality in their careers feel the difference when they are in their respective groups without exceptions, since they usually see themselves differently.

So seeing that duality led me to SF9, who have been a motivation to not feel alone in my darkest moments and became my light. With their music they have generated a lot of joy in my life and have even moved me by the little things, plus they always keep their promises.

Songs like ‘Play Hard’ and ‘OK OK’ have become an anthem for their message of hope that can turn the saddest moment into a party. In addition, they have always stood out as a group with great vocal capacity that no matter if they are 6, 7, or 8, they continue to preserve the essence of their songs since they adapt to any situation and are very versatile in their performances because their group is not just one person.

While the members have shown new sides when they have a drama and/or musical, it is known how everyone in SF9 has made sacrifices, as well as shown dedication and love in every decision they make. They have always had excellent communication with FANTASY, even while in the military service, such as InSeong and YoungBin who’ve written a letter to fans. They’ve encouraged us by being in the military band, as well as the daily photos that JaeYoon prepared that’s been revealed little by little.

What I want to say with all of this is that we must stay by their side just as they have always been with us. Even with having experienced a loss, each person has their own process to heal without pressure and make their decisions without being as helpless as they feel. Because no matter how long a fan has been there, that doesn’t make them any less of a FANTASY — even the smallest thing can help us grow. Some right now, even though a month has passed, may still feel sad, disappointed, or hurt by the way everything developed but they cannot forget the good memories.

Memories such as their first win, the way they transform into the scenario when they are together, how chaotic they can get when they are in the same room, how bad they can be at certain sports, the way they always admire FANTASY, etc. To move forward one step at a time, you can hold onto good memories, which no one can erase or change since they remain only ours. Even if one member takes a different direction, they are still 9 and the love they gave us remains.
