What “5-STAR” Tracklist Reveals About Stray Kids’ Album

On May 1 2023, K-Pop group Stray Kids released the tracklist of their album “5-STAR”, which is scheduled to be released on June 2, 2023.

It is obvious that “5-STAR” is going to be a full album, the group’s 3rd full album actually. It consists of 12 tracks: ‘Hall of Fame’, the title track ‘S-Class’, ‘ITEM’, ‘Super Bowl’, ‘Topline’, ‘DLC’, ‘Get lit’, ‘Collision’, ‘FNF’, ‘Youtiful’, the Korean version of their already released song ‘The Sound’ and ‘Time Out’, which was released on August 1, 2022, for STAYs’ birthday.

Notice how the 10th song’s title, ‘Youtiful’, probably stands for “You” and “Beautiful”! Another proof that Stray Kids have always been innovative with their song titles (as in ‘Hellevator’, combining the words “Hell” and “Ellevator”).

As seen in the photo of the tracklist that was posted on Stray Kids’ official Twitter, all members of 3RACHA (Stray Kids’ production unit, consisting of Bang Chan, ChangBin, and Han) have participated in the production of the songs. What grabbed the attention of STAYs, however, was the fact that Felix, a member of Danceracha (Stray Kids’ dance unit) appears in the credits for the lyrics of ‘Super Bowl’ and ‘FNF’, while in the latter, he seems to be among the composers, too.

‘Topline’, on the other side, features the famous Korean-American rapper, Tiger JK.

“Legendary like Tiger JK,” 3RACHA had written this as part of their song ‘Heyday’, which was released as a soundtrack for the show “Street Man Fighter”. It is fair, therefore, to say that the sub-unit admires the rapper. They managed to collaborate with him in December, for their performance at “MAMA Awards 2022”, which gained a lot of positive comments by the audience.
