As we previously discussed, sometimes when we think of K-Pop we sometimes forget other genres within the K-Industry. These genres including but not limited to: Indie, R&B, Alternative Pop, ‘Emo’ Pop, Hip Hop, Rock, EDM and more.
When talking about K-Pop groups, names like: Wanna One, BTS, EXO, BLACKPINK, NCT, SEVENTEEN, MONSTA X, SHINee, TWICE, Stray Kids, TXT, and IVE are usually the first one’s to cross our minds. However, there is very few trios/duos that do, for example: Triple H, 3YE, LIMELIGHT, Ladies’ Code, VIVIZ, EXO-SC, EXO-CBX, or most recently, NCT DOJAEJUNG.
If you are looking for something to refresh your playlist or plainly wanting a new experience, then BDC may help you in that way.
To begin, we will ask, who is BDC?
BDC (BOYS DA CAPO) (비디씨/ 보이스 다 카포) is a three-member trio underneath Brand New Music, a company known for its acts: AB6IX, YOUNITE, Kang SoYeon, Lee EunSang, Han DongGeun, and more.
Unfortunately, the members would be eliminated on “Produce X 101,” they would later release the pre-debut special single album “Boys Da Capo” on October 29, 2019 which contained the following 4 tracks: ‘Remember Me’, ‘Da Capo’, ‘Remember Me’ (Instrumental VER.) and ‘Da Capo’ (Instrumental VER), only to follow up the release with their debut EP on September 23, 2020, “THE INTERSECTION: BELIEF,” which contained the following 5 tracks: ‘DUMP’, ‘SHOOT THE MOON’, ”DROWNING’, ‘I’LL BE A STAR’ and ‘GO GET HER’ (feat. YOUNITE’s Lee EunSang).
They took part later in JTBC’s most recent South Korean survival show broadcast “Peak Time.” BDC would take part as “Team 18:00,” who was revealed to the viewers with silhouette teaser ‘Don’t Call Me’ (Originally by SHINee).
Throughout this show, they gained various attention for different stages such as: ONF‘s ‘Beautiful Beautiful’, EXO-CBX’s ‘Blooming Day’, and songs like: ‘Thunder (Urr)’.
Their fans (FINE) couldn’t also help but suggest that, because of ‘Peak Time,’ they were able to gain other experiences and promotions such as “BDC’s JungHwan on JTBC Peak Time, Behind Stories with Korean CowBoys”.
Similarly, to other K-Pop artists, you can find a variety of content on the group’s official platforms and YouTube. FINE (BDC fans) suggest the following for newcomers: “Peak Time 18:00 Playlist”, COVER, “BWVC” and “VDC”.
Although it wasn’t mentioned on their YouTube, the idol Lee EunSang would also be featured in one of the member’s graduation posts, showcasing the idols friendship is still going strong.
Although BDC does not have a comeback as of the original writing of this post, you can still check out the trio and support them with the following links (YouTube / Twitter / Instagram / BDC Naver or Fan Cafe Official), or checking out the artist on various social media platforms.
