Your new favourite radio show, Volume up! by Chungha

As fall begins to start for many K-Pop fans around the world it sadly often means that school and back to back studying sessions are just around that same corner. While some plead for summer not to end yet, some may look for their next favourite show, series, podcast or radio show to watch after studying, school or for having something in the background while doing house chores or something to listen to during late nights. 

A show I came across recently and was suggested to due to YouTube’s homepage suggestions based on my previous history, the show hosted by Chungha (청하) would be that suggestion. 

For those getting into K-Pop or are just now hearing about Chungha for the first time, although she is currently a soloist, (Kim Chan Mi) Chungha became well known and well beloved after ranking number 4 on the popular survival show Produce 101 and officially debuted in the girl group I.O.I (who you might recognize for their songs Very Very Very, DOWNPOUR, I Love You I Remember You, Whatta Man and Pick Me to name a few. Chungha would continue to impress fans with her work ethic and talents by officially debuting as a solo artist on June 7th 2017 underneath her former agency MNH Entertainment. 

Last year in September Chungha would be introduced as the next DJ since Heize would step down from the show. It wouldn’t be long before the show would be renamed to ‘Chungha’s Volume Up’. In an article about the announcement, Soompi would share Chungha’s following statement about becoming a DJ for the show: “I’m delighted to be back on the radio,” and added, “I will work hard to become a DJ who listens to and empathizes with the everyday stories of our listeners and ensure that those who tune in can end their day with a smile.” 

The show has since been airing every day from 8pm to 10pm KST (Korean Standard Time), the show itself can be found through the official KBS Programs Radio (https://program.kbs.co.kr/2fm/radio/cvolume/pc/index.html) and through Youtube which can be seen below.
