Since their debut ZEROBASEONE has been making the waves soaring. So, let’s get to know them better. Personally, I’ve already begun to stan them. Park GunWook is my bias in the group. Of course, BTS’ JungKook is my ultimate bias, but if I was asked who my bias is from the group, then it’s Park GunWook. From the first episode of “Boys Planet,” he has maintained a strong presence. Their fandom name is ZE_ROSE.
ZEROBASEONE
The name of the group ZEROBASEONE represents the journey of the nine boys, with how they began from zero (0) to base one (1). Base one was the place where the top 9 finalists sat on the “Boys Planet” set). It also shows the boys’ commitment they share with their fans who made them reach zero to base one. ZEROBASEONE is abbreviated as ZB1.

“Boys Planet” aired from February 2 to April 20, 2023. From a total of 98 boys, 9 boys won the opportunity to become the first 5th generation K-Pop boy group ZB1.

Sung HanBin’s comforting nature and care for the members has earned him the leader position. He’s happy that the boys always listen to him and they always manage to solve every issue through talks.

Kim JiWoong debuted in 2016 as part of the boy band INX but the group got disbanded a year later. Then, he found success in acting. He played the main role in “The Sweet Blood” in 2001. He also appeared in some music videos.
Kim JiWoong said the reason he participated in the show was because he never gave up on his dream of singing and dancing, and, that it would probably be his last chance. Now, after becoming part of ZB1, he says, now, there’s no looking back and only running forward.

Kim TaeRae competed in “Top 10 Student,” a singing competition in 2020, and but his destiny was to be part of ZEROBASEONE, and we are happy for that.

Mini-Album
“Youth In the Shade” was released on July 10, 2023 under the labels WakeOne and Dreamus. It’s available in CD, digital download and streaming formats. Korean sales estimated were 1,734,534 while the Japan sales were 99,862.
‘In Bloom’ was released in 2023, and from their album “Youth In The Shade,” the songs that entered the Circle Weekly Digital Chart are ‘Back to ZEROBASE’ with a peak position 195, ‘Our Season’ with a peak position of 180, ‘and I’ with a peak position of 162, and ‘New Kidz on the Block’ with a peak position of 140.
Filmography (Reality Shows)
ZEROBASEONE members won the reality show “Boys Planet.” Then, the boys pre-debuted in the reality show “Camp ZEROBASEONE” that was aired on Mnet. Their album “Youth in the Shade” amassed more than 780,000 pre-orders within the first five days of release and surpassed 1.08 million copies as of July 4, 2023. The album is ranked as the highest pre-ordered K-Pop debut album in the history of K-Pop. After their 8th day debuting on SBS’s “The Show”, their mini-album “Youth In The Shade” got them their first music show.
On August 15, 2023, the ZEROBASEONE boys held their first fan concert at the Gocheok Sky dome in front of 18,000 fans.
Awards
During the recently held “K-Global Heart Dream Awards,” they won the main prize K-Global Bonsang and the K-Global Super Rookie Award.
